Yesterday, Roger Stone announced his partnership with a menswear company, where together they've released a collection of tailored clothing items. Here is my review of those pieces. 🧵

I know it’s a cliche, but… Do you believe that the headline would be about a “nerdy scientist” if he had not been white? If there was credible evidence that “Christians turned his stomach” or that he fantasized about driving into a Church and turning them into mincemeat? 6/9

Long live Wikipedia!

In 2008, Google created an ad-powered wiki encyclopedia called Knol, seen as a "Wikipedia killer" amid its highly-publicized launch. And the Wikimedia Foundation gave an unbothered response that I quite like: "the more good free content, the better for the world." Anyway Knol instantly flopped

Very exciting, Exeter Comedy Festival starts this week. Some of the bigger acts have sold out but there are still plenty of tickets available for all sorts of amazing people. Prices are very good value so it’s maybe worth taking a punt on someone you don’t know. www.exetercomedyfestival.com

Does anyone know if there are any favourites for the next pope? I'm not a Catholic, but I gather Francis was quite progressive. Is there a mood among the cardinals for another Francis-esque Pope?

Italy has essentially the same number of electors as a whole continent? I wasn't expecting to the process to be anything but archaic, but surely this must be a point of controversy.

Donald Trump has committed the most profound, harmful and unnecessary economic error in the modern era. Almost everything he said—on history, economics and the technicalities of trade—was utterly deluded econ.st/3YbbFjq

Trump has folded again. He’s now not planning to increase tariffs on Canada, officials say. Canada didn’t blink and the bully ran away. Of course he could change his mind again in the next hour. Government by random thoughts.

I’m not sure on what possible train of thought lead to Gregg thinking that his statement would in anyway improve his situation.

Very much enjoyed the first installent of Dr. Adshead’s #BBCReithLectures. Also nice to hear that Lord Timpson was in the theatre. We are, as a result of the prisons crisis, at a crossroads and I look forward to hearing what Adshead can add to the debate—through her lectures.

The more you think about it, the more dropping the criminal cases against Trump seems insane. I don’t even think they’re sentencing him for the ‘felony’. Presidential immunity is something you only really see in dictatorships… Even the Italians managed to lock up Berlusconi.

I'm staring at this paper and nothing is happening. Does it really require me to do something? Can't it just, you know, 'do'?

This is, of course, great. But I never enjoyed following large news orgs because they post so much and it completely floods your feed. Still nice to be able to comment on the Guardian directly though.

Does anyone have any reviews to share of the new Paddington film? The silence suggest it’s not possible? #PaddingtoninPeru

"There will always be concerns about the abuse and misuse of any law relating to life and death. But that is never a reason for there not to be a law. Something as important as assisting dying should not be left to a legal void filled by pure prosecutorial discretion." an interesting take by DAG
