Jensen has done his research. He knows the Germans are the softest population for this conversion, because of the popularity in Germany of tedious simulation games like Farming Simulator

Absolutely insane story about the arrest of August Hanning, former head of German intelligence agency BND Added gimmick is that investigators only found out because Hanning is accused of involvement in another absolutely insane story of a German millionaire trying to abduct her own children

Marcel Dirsus@marceldirsus.com

The accusations are pretty crazy. According to media reports, the former spy chief paid his former chief of staff (who stayed at the BND until this year) to receive classified information after he left the agency. That's already a big problem, but it gets worse. www.tagesschau.de/investigativ...

Hayes has been banging this drum about idionomic analyses for 6+ years, with folk like @jamiecummins.bsky.social pointing out that its reinventing-the-wheel-but-worse for just as long. My experience is that the ACT community is insufficiently interested and aware of existing methods+stats work.

Magnus Johansson@pgmj.bsky.social

Our commentary "A Revolution in Search of an Estimand: On the Idionomic Proposal of Hayes et al. (2026)" is now available as a preprint: osf.io/preprints/ps... With @rpsychologist.com, @matti.vuorre.com, and Nils Hentati Isacsson.

holy fucking shit - see Claude Code (Opus 5.5) rip through a survey eligility test I was really proud of... It requires tracing a route through designated points on a map with server-side Javascript applying eligibility criteria. (1.5 min video)

I sincerely hope this paper will be seen as a turning point in how the medical sciences think and approach the issue of trustworthiness assessment (and I hope the social sciences follow suit!). Congrats to @jdwilko.bsky.social and colleagues (incl. @ianhussey.mmmdata.io and @lhdjung.bsky.social)!

INSPECT-SR – a tool for assessing the trustworthiness of randomized controlled trials – has been published today in @bmj.com, giving researchers a structured way to identify problematic studies before they're included in systematic reviews. 🔗 www.cochrane.org/about-us/new... #ResearchIntegrity

Has ego depletion research been resurrected as “cognitive depletion”? “Study 2 [shows that] glucose levels, can modulate deliberative thinking…” doi.org/10.1080/0144... I have a memory of papers arguing that drinking glucose can’t directly change brain glucose. Is that false?

New preprint! 🎉 I analysed 1660 papers from 4 psychology journals and found materials sharing went from 9% of papers in 2015 to 82% in 2025, and these materials *do* get downloaded — a median of 135 times each. BUT shared code is often hard to run. doi.org/10.31234/osf... Let's walk through it 🧵

This is an *excellent* post on cluster analysis. If you ever thought about applying cluster, latent class or latent profile analysis to psychological scales, you absolutely should read this!>

No ground truth, no witnesses. Uh. Yeah. [Verse] Roll up on the dataset, don't standardize a thing, Raw units, mixed scales, let the big variable be king. Pick my k in advance 'cause I already know the story, Three clusters in the grant, so it's three, that's the glory. - Clusta Rhymes
