Who do we talk to at Apple about this: You own a TV show or a movie that you bought from Apple, playing it on an Apple TV box. When the episode or movie is almost done the TV show or movie SHRINKS TO THE CORNER OF THE SCREEN — WE DON’T WANT THAT TO HAPPEN on stuff that we have purchased EVER EVER

LMFAO -- Trump is holding an event at the White House right now but there's no audio because the press pool isn't there. The Newsmax host notes that this is an example of Trump's attacks on the press "backfiring just a little bit"

The AI industry wants you to say "the AI just did that thing on its own!" Like, United Health's AI that's denying a shitload of claims with a 90% error rate? They wanted you to think it's just the AI.

huh that’s weird

New — I wrote about this weird thing where people within the Republican party keep being exposed as Nazis and the party then tries to claim each one is an aberration. The facts, as I lay out here, indicate otherwise:

The contractor that renovated the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool has told the Trump administration that errors in its own work and flaws in the repair plan, not vandalism, caused the pool’s new blue liner to peel and break loose, documents show.

Mayor Mamdani: AI is present in nearly every aspect of our lives. I am proud to announce New York City's first ever AI policy for our public schools. Children need teachers and human connection to learn and grow. This school year, we will implement a 1 year moratorium on AI from 2k through 8th grade

anil is right - also threads is perfect for people for whom this is their first week on the planet

Anil Dash@anildash.com

It's important to understand: social networks are not meant to be one-size-fits all! When Meta (which makes Threads, as well as Facebook and Instagram) creates platforms that have hundreds of millions of users, they do things like enable genocides, where tens of thousands of innocent people die.

film bros/grifters have been telling me for years that if you shoot on FILM you magically get CONTRAST, SATURATION and DEEP FOCUS so I'm excited to watch the trailer for a movie shot on FILM to see tons of CONTRAST, SATURATION and DEEP FOCUS so I'm gonna push play and take a huge sip of a beverage

I don't want to brag, but I worked on a movie directed by Academy Award winner John G. Avildsen—a 'movie' called "Desert Heat" (1999), his final film. But the movie doesn't have his name on it; he Alan Smithee'd his credit... except the end credits (mistakenly) kept "A Film by John G. Avildsen".

I'll summarize this: Mamdani asked NYers to keep air conditioning at 78 degrees. A wave criticism hit online. A MSNBC broadcast pointed out the US Department of Energy recommends that 78 degree figure. Immediately after, the US Department of Energy deleted 6,000 web pages related to energy saving.

John Williams' score for Disclosure Day is wonderfully nuanced. He's often described as a neo-Romanticist but it feels like his inspiration changed for this one. There's less Holst and more Vaughan Williams. Echoes of late Tchaikovsky too. Very pensive and sorrowful

Supremely annoyed about the home releases of Project Hail Mary. You can buy it digitally now , but you have to wait for the physical release which isn’t available in multifotmat unless you get the steelbook 4K/BluRay (which is sold out) and NONE of them include a digital code.

This stuff is so infuriating. The filmmakers and marketing team behind “Primate” (2026) should be ashamed of themselves.

The Movie Rabbit Hole@themovierabbithole.bsky.social

This is disappointing. You would think a low budget production would be more honest and down to earth, giving credit to the people who made their movie, but no. Listen to "Primate" (2026) dissing their own CGI by Outpost VFX. Video by @vsgro.bsky.social www.tiktok.com/@v_sgro/vide...
