I am reliably informed that direct-market e-bike imports now outpace bike shop sales. That should set alarm bells ringing, but it's also a reality check. So, I deep-dived the marketplaces to produce this guide on how not to fall victim to bad listings: www.cyclingelectric.com/in-depth/buy...

Interesting. Lime pass prices just shot up, to the point where I am now walking and taking tube. Bike share has eaten the ebike lunch in cities. Will these increases nudge more to a purchase?

It would be wonderful if our local representatives would actually take this on board rather than stick to culture wars and motor-first thinking. For the best part of a decade we've had valuable routes planned - not even a comprehensive network, just a starting point - but they've not been built.

Channel 5 "scourge of our streets" programme on e-bikes / e-things was nowhere near as bad as the BBC hatchet job, thankfully. But you have to ask, why has the press got it out for something that is inherently positive and why is that story rarely presented?

Airing tonight on Channel 5 will be the ragebait titled: E-bikes: the scourge of our streets? I took part, 18 months ago, in filming, as did many other in the bike/city cycle cops world. It should... be better than the BBC's hitjob. Multiple people leaned into the producer to do better. We'll see.
