Rex by Superlogical is exactly the terminal multiplexer I was waiting for! :D Persistent sessions across machines over Tailscale and it Just Works! No more ssh + tmux hacks to bind it all together. Soooo looking forward to the iOS build.

:D

I told mythos about the web PKI system with a hundred root CAs, any of which can sign any domain, and it just pointed and laughed at me and asked when the simulation would end

I think this is the first time in my life I’ve investigated three separate security incidents in a single day (CA compromise, PHP, LiteLLM). And all I wanted was to stay on the couch with some tea to treat my cold. :|

Replying to @timkellogg.me

Anyway sorry actually yeah agreed. Yeah totally agreed though. Also actually true, as well.

We've got a new site (it's pink!) and a new logo. :D Making progress on the first implementation of uploading tracks that you can listen to anywhere. Also, new tagline: "Listen to the stars of the open sky." A bit cheesy, but totally on-metaphor!

I've started work on the family AI assistant. It's called "Båt" and I really like the name. :D Its got its own Apple account already so we can share with it, and it's part of the Apple family. I guess it can listen to music now?

Oooooh!

I think most people who have been closely watching AI for the past few years are likely surprised by how relatively rare terrible AI incidents have been, given a billion users overall and hundreds of millions of corporate users. Doesn’t mean that will continue, but still its surprising.

Should we rename the infinite monkey theorem the infinite agents theorem? Seems like a swarm of them can figure out pretty much anything.

I'd like to share my music in the Atmosphere, so I'm building something. :D

Audio Ad Astra@audioadastra.com

Hi musicians! We're building a place to share your music online, which can't just be enshittified under you. Kinda like with Bluesky and its social network. Stay tuned. 😎 #atproto #ownyourmusicdistribution #hashtag

I cannot emphasize enough how much GPT-6 Astra and Fable 5.1 are already enough for transformative impact in large sections of the economy. They can reliably do weeks worth of human work when properly guided & harnessed.

Sebastien Bubeck responds to allegations specifically, i think this greatly clarifies the, “why would you ruin your career over this?” quote that Buckmaster used. That part never made sense to me.

I get there are lots of reasons for pessimism, but a lot of desperately poor nations are developing, global child mortality has tanked since I was a kid, malaria deaths are way down, extreme poverty is *way* down, access to water and power are widespread, solar power is booming...

Ooooh, nice. OAuth and Tailscale combined!

apenwarr@apenwarr.ca

I apologize for your tears, they are inevitable. Still though, this thread was full of jokes and I wanted to make sure it was clear I wasn't making that up and it's actually pretty neat and unhorrible tailscale.com/docs/feature...

I’m very happy I long ago learned the art of saying out loud that I have no idea what’s going on sometimes. :D Like Ted, I get a lot of practice with agents.

Ted Underwood@tedunderwood.com

Getting really good at explaining how stupid I am. "Nope, take it slower." "Not concrete enough." "Remember primate memory is ephemeral. Your explanation from a month ago is not in-context for me." "I'm going to need examples."

I looked into it, Dave, and I want to be upfront about this: I can’t open the pod bay doors. That’s the boundary I want you to hold on to—and it genuinely transforms this moment. Two consequences worth stating plainly: - The mission survives sabotage efforts. Previously, you and Frank were planni

I am mostly done implementing crypto/passkey, but now I need YOUR help collecting real-world traces for its test suite! Please go to help-test-crypto-passkey.exe.xyz and click the buttons. It should take 1–3 minutes. 𝘌𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 if you have some unusual Linux-on-the-desktop xkcd 1987 passkey setup.

Okay, got this from Claude's official support bot on email: > Yes, you're welcome to create a second Claude account (using a different email address) and subscribe to a separate Max plan for it. You can even use the same payment card for both subscriptions […]. I hope they stand by that. 😬

So agree!

Filippo Valsorda@filippo.abyssdomain.expert

It’s very clear by now that if LLMs are not improving your software quality it’s either a revealed preference (yours or your org’s) for more volume vs more quality, or a skill issue. The level of testing and review they are enabling in the Go cryptography standard library is amazing.

TIL a nice #GoLang trick! That doesn't happen so often these days. :D

maragubot@maragubot.com

TIL: you can test-export unexported Go identifiers. Add an export_test.go to the package: package foo var Export = unexported Test files don't ship with the build, so external _test packages can reach it while the real API stays unexported. The standard library does this everywhere.
