The term everyone is dancing around is "secret police", a hallmark of totalitarian regimes.
Things got more insane just about as soon as I posted this last night. DHS is now arguing that we cannot even put the names of ICE officers in our lawsuit against those officers. Their position is that, if a defendant works for DHS, they cannot be named in a lawsuit. Never seen anything like it.
Once again charging another futile war to the country's $40 trillion debt balance, Republicans wish nothing more than for you to suffer from the inflation they willfully cause. They'll gleefully force you to pay more for everything because they actively hate the working population of this country.
The Senate on Thursday rejects a symbolic resolution calling for President Trump to end the U.S. war with Iran, with most Republicans siding with the president despite the war’s unpopularity.

This can’t be reformed. It’s not a training issue. The agents who murdered Pretti and Good, and who shot Sosa-Celis have been agents for more than 8 years. I’ll be voting for candidates who support dismantling DHS and abolishing ICE.
"Tonk" is a Border Patrol slur that refers to the sound a metal flashlight makes when used to beat a migrant in the head. And that's the word that Border Patrol agents under the direct command of Greg Bovino were using when bragging about their arrests in Los Angeles last year.

We still have the cultural image that actual Nazis were defeated in the 1940's, and the remaining Nazis are either unemployed basement-dwellers or fringe militias in Idaho. There is still a reluctance by media and business leaders to say openly that the world's wealthiest person is a Nazi.
The ongoing Musk nazi tweets just have me wondering if corporate boards are even a thing anymore

Establishment Centrist Dems have always been quick to backstab Progressive Democrats, preferring the corporate corruption and elitism of the Republicans over being the Party of the People. But the Party of FDR, AOC, and Zohran Mamdani is what the People want, and they're making that fact very clear.

Very much ditto here with the Democrats. Are you young, politically minded, and energetic? Fuck you, all your ideas and beliefs are childish "give everyone a pony" nonsense. Hey, why aren't young people getting involved in politics?
This is the thing. I try not to bring up politics with people but I am known as A Politics Guy, and people sometimes ask me my opinion. If I’m asked “why is this Labour government so abysmal”, I’m going to tell people exactly why, and I can be a persuasive person.

People need to realize Republicans only want rich white men voting. Every action they take is specifically designed to fuck over everyone but themselves, all while crying wolf that it's actually happening to them.
NEW: Trump seized on California's slow vote count to push false claims that Democrats are "stealing" the state's primary elections. He also used the assertion to pressure lawmakers to pass the SAVE America Act, which would ban vote by mail — a method voters in the state largely rely on.

Very important: large slice of Democratic Elites still think catering to whims of Republican Elite shows good "bipartisanship" & "reaching-across-the-aisle" rather than bad "collaboration" and they need to learn that catering to Republican Elite will no longer be exalted or even tolerated.

Whoever thought it was a good idea to ask SCOTUS to overrule a state court interpreting a state law should never be in a position to make decisions again. Even with 9 liberal justices this wouldn't have worked. They should've just ignored SCOVA and strong-armed the maps like Republicans do.

Abolish ICE is a moderate position
In 2017, Criselda Vasquez painted this portrait of her parents and titled it "The New American Gothic." Last month, her father, the man in this portrait, was abducted by ICE after being in the US for 30+ years. The family is now struggling with bills. A GoFundMe has been started: gofund.me/456d8a193

here again we see this idea that american citizens do not have rights apart from what their states provide.
Alito, in his dissent, rants about shield laws that allow blue state providers to mail mifepristone into red states like Louisiana. He complains that more abortions occur in Louisiana today than before Dobbs thanks to telemedicine abortion pills. www.documentcloud.org/documents/28...

Anti-Black racism has created "fact resistant Americans." I said what I said about people that complained that right-wing news or social media had *suddenly* brainwashed their parents into refusing to mask or get vaccinated. No. Nothing was sudden. They cooked their own brains slowly over decades
If your parents get most of their news from right-wing news TV over the past 30 years, then they were more likely to believe that: * The election was stolen * Covid was a hoax " Ivermectin works * Vaccines don't * Portland was burned to the ground during BLM marches * Portland is a war zone today

NEW: Chief Justice John Roberts bemoans that Americans don't understand how the Supreme Court operates and see justices as "political actors". The court at times simply has to make "unpopular" decisions, he adds: www.nbcnews.com/politics/sup...
