No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

Repost if $30k would change your life right now

Matt Darling@besttrousers.bsky.social

I don't think $30k is a life-changing amount of money. Median American born in 1980 will have $2m in income in their lifetime. It's a 1% increase in earnings.

WhatsApp communities give me such fatigue. I hate those red unread message count displays, and even when I mute communities they still display me the red unread count. I only want it disabled for them!

Anthropic banning “abusive or cruel behavior” toward Claude in its new usage policies is proof to me that tech companies are going to moderate violence against AI before they ever moderate violence against women and minorities

Maybe Zuck is just a really big fan of "America's Funniest Home Movies" and just wanted to ensure that all those silly/zany/goofy/funny/outrageous moments could be caught on camera?! To be really honest though, if any billionaire is trying to shill something, it is likely for dubious methods

We're repeatedly told that the killer app for pervert glasses - Meta's AI-enabled camera glasses and their imitators - is that they will remind you of someone's name and spare you the social awkwardness of not recognizing them.

If you have $100 million to spend on ads saying you shouldn’t be taxed you’re not being taxed enough Google cofounder Sergey Brin has spent $102 million to fight California’s proposed billionaire tax—he could owe $13 billion if he loses fortune.com/article/how-...

So Ed Sheeran is continuing his tour solo, with nary a shred of awareness that his position of apoliticism is one of cynical complicity for genocide. If he wants “one love” for all as he so claims, then he should stand up against injustice properly. I don’t see him recovering positively from this

✌️ Matt Scheurich@mattsch.bsky.social

I like his music and I think he’s generally a good person, but no-one does any good cowering behind apoliticism (which is itself a political stance—especially when it helps the bad guys)

This is def one of the most distasteful ads/brand imagery I’ve ever seen. I’m shocked that someone even decided that this was a good thing to put out.

As a long, long, long, long, long time Converse buyer, I will never buy a Converse product ever again. I am sick of the virtue signalling to racists. I see this and I see a man hanged, a white robe that could be a klansman's robe and light shaped like a KKK hat. What the actual hell!?!

A new U.N. report found that toxic “forever chemicals” called PFAS pose a profound threat to human rights and the environment. Actor and activist Mark Ruffalo and environmental attorney Rob Bilott have joined the call to ban all non-essential uses of PFAS to protect our planet and our health.

An AI flyer is a brown M&M test. If your event or business is cutting corners by using an AI flyer, where else are you cutting corners? What else are you cheating out on? Why should I be bothered to go somewhere you couldn't be bothered to promote with a little of your own personality?

Those wielding genAI to make their things can get results (and dopamine hits) quickly & we can see this utility is helpful to a certain degree. However, expertise still matters and is a defining characteristic between "good" & "bad" use of genAI, judging if something is a concept or finished

rooting for meta’s defeat and destructiob

WIRED@wired.com

Two specific Meta apps are in focus in this trial: Facebook and Instagram. Meta maintains that it satisfied COPPA law requirements in those states, and denies that its statements about how its apps work were deceptive or misleading.

While I respect in The Line video at 3:38 that they point out the "NEOM's artificial moon" and "Jurassic Park theme park" are bonkers ideas, the voice FAILS TO MENTION "Final Fantasy theme park". I'd say that's even more bonkers (and cooler) idea than all the others

Damon Charles@damonmakespictures.bsky.social

What's weird is how this could be a surprise to... well, *anyone*. Everything I ever read about Neom - especially The Line - right from the start, was completely bonkers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbB3...
