hi friends! if you were wondering what the perfect gift to get me this holiday season might be: - I need sponsors for Accessiblity, CSS, and other frontend categories for Leet Heat - I'm booking season 2 of Web Dev Challenge and looking for sponsors - I want to make more fun projects — hit me up!

This starts in about 15 minutes! Come hang 🙌

I'll be hanging out with the folks of FEDSA tomorrow at 8:30am Pacific, chatting all about complexity in frontend development. Can I give a talk about complexity without immediately putting everyone to sleep? There's only one way to find out. Hope to see you there! www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNOj...

Frontend at Scale #37 is out today ✨ The team (me) is taking a break the rest of the month, so this will be the last time you’ll have to read my ramblings this year. Enjoy!

If you want to know what the Fundamentals course is all about, look no further than this amazing thread by @tomaszgil.me Thank you so much for sharing, Tomasz! 🙏

Recently I've finished "Fundamentals of Frontend Architecture" course by @maxiferreira.com - it has been a great and insightful journey! 🚀 Here are some of my key learnings. 🧵

I've been playing with the Popover + Anchor Position APIs to create these follow-the-cursor tooltips you often see in video games. There's very little JS involved, and you get all of the nice auto-positioning goodness for free! Blog post coming soon, here's a Codepen 👇 codepen.io/Charca/pen/m...

Of course I ended up choosing the most time-consuming one. Goodbye all other side projects for the next few months 🥲

Is there a name for that feeling when you finally have a few hours to work on a side project but you can't decide which one so you spend the entire time agonizing over it? Asking for a friend

After 15+ years of teaching, architecting & delivering CSS for global organisations & startups, I’ve collated that experience into an extensive course. Complete CSS has taken nearly a year to produce and finally, it’s officially live for a limited Black Friday launch price of £189 complete-css.com

I’m open to new roles - preferably Staff Engineer or higher and in Platform, DevRel, or fullstack development (I’m versatile)! I’m also good at building internal tools! www.linkedin.com/in/ada-lundh... I’m mostly known for my Python work, but can be just as effective in Typescript or GoLang. 🥰

Maxi's newsletter "Frontend at scale" is one of my recent favourites, it always has amazing and well curated content for frontend engineers. Today, one of my articles was mentioned in links worth checking out. 🙊 Go read the latest issue!

It's Sunday ☀️ and a new issue of Frontend at Scale is on its way to your inboxes right. about. now! This week, we're talking about architecture testing, why most projects take forever, and why I have an "office organization" folder with 600 bookmarks. Check it out 👇 frontendatscale.com/issues/36/

I love this analogy so much. I've been looking for a good mental model for the advice of "always leaving the codebase better than you found it", and the betterment metric seems to be a perfect fit.

My latest blog post covers how a simple observation at airport security highlights the concept of Betterment and how it applies to engineering teams. Which group are you in? angiejones.tech/the-betterme...

I've been in a bit of a rut these past few weeks, but I've come out of it with a renewed need for writing. Not just the long-form, heavily researched stuff that takes forever to write, but also the shorter, scrappy, sometimes nonsensical stuff. Like this post.

This week we'll talk about why software complexity is an impossible enemy, how React Router became a full-stack framework, what led to the death of the architect, and much more. Check it out, and subscribe to get the next issue right in your inbox!

Hi friends 👋🏼 I’m mostly into software design and architecture, with a strong focus on frontend development (which I know is kind of a weird combination.) I write all about it in my bi-weekly newsletter frontendatscale.com You should definitely check it out if you’re into this stuff!
