Rather than recalculate these, Labor passed new legislation to retrospectively validate debts they had already conceded were illegal. Now people are having to go back decades to find evidence with which to defend themselves. This is beyond indefensible. Spitting in the faces of Robodebt victims.

This post is unavailable.

It is even worse than that, because the only reason they are able to do this at all is because they've spent over 3 years ignoring this Robodebt Royal Commission recommendation to restore the ordinary statute of limitations to social security debts. They're relying on the Coalition's Robodebt laws.

🚨 If you have received a message like this today please understand your mutual obligations HAVE NOT CHANGED. The government is trying (poorly) to inform you that they have resumed payment cancellations for certain mutual obligations breaches. I have attached the information you actually need:

Scoop: ABC has wiped staff devices exposed to malicious ads from an Israeli company that used digital advertising to hack and track devices without a click. ABC is just one of many Australian government/critical infra/media orgs reportedly targeted www.abc.net.au/news/...

And maybe it will be alleged eventually! But it hasn’t even been alleged!?! So what the hell has the media been doing writing about it??

Every media organisation in the country has been running editorials about the danger of new media, changing rules for question time -- all too early, before investigations into the alleged attacker and before authorities even alleged a motive.

This is 110% the chat worth having. In Australian public policy generally, we prefer spending $10 responding to a crisis situation than spending $1 on preventing the crisis.

We're constantly told that improving health and welfare is "unsustainable". How does that work? Isn't it a primary purpose if government?

If our public broadcaster really believes they have a role to "turn down the temperature", why do they so often platform hate-mongers who turn it up?

How thick do you have to be as Anthony Albanese in 2026 to pretend you're suddenly not a dirt sheet guy? Why would you inflict this on yourself? There's zero upside.

This is either completely dishonest or completely clueless from the PM and is disgraceful. The page doing the rounds clearly attacks Haines and implies she has double standards on porkbarrelling and may have hidden conflicts of interest.

It's not as if the document in question is a severe example. He's the first to accuse others of playing politics, and he's made a very successful career of that. It is a totally separate issue, there are clear distinctions to be drawn, we are talking 10 minutes of preparation.

If I worked for one of those wonderful Australian political satire humour news websites, I would submit the following headline: Gay guy drinking a Crown Lager

We have questions for the minister ... and so do journalists. It's increasingly suspicious that Amanda Rishworth is refusing to say she has confidence that the system of "mutual" obligations penalties used against people on Centrelink payments is operating lawfully. From an InnovationAus report:

No advocate is irreplaceable. No-one is more important than their movement. No-one is so valuable to a community that what they do cannot be replicated or improved by others. Real leaders reject the cult of personality and empower their replacements. Real movements make sure they do.

I refuse to accept people willingly, regularly receive news and information via the medium of 10+ slide Instagram text posts and I feel a mixture of pity and revulsion for those who do.
