Becoming increasingly clear we’re gonna have to build a parallel infrastructure for all the media we really love. The reason all of this is happening under the color of law is hyperconsolidation, dissent being traded straight up for merger approval, or fear of harassment.

Hi @mta.info 2 days in a row of the Q only running every 8 min at rush hour?? And still using this time to repair the escalators?? This is ridiculous how is anyone supposed to get to work early or even on time?

marlena@mclemar.bsky.social

@mta.info WHY is the downtown Q never running at least every 5 min during rush hour??? And WHY is this the time they choose to repair the escalators, there is pretty much 1 way to get into the station and it causes many of us to be late for work!! Get it together!!

I can't believe I need to have an AI policy! I made it pretty short though: Using AI is cheating, yourself mostly. In addition to the environmental blight created by AI, it makes no sense to use it in your intellectual and creative work. Why would you outsource your innate intelligence?

gross stuff but seeing as the “grab em by the pussy” video made little impact….not sure what impact people think this will make

🚨Unearthed footage shows Trump bragging about hiring a teenage girl because she was “so pretty.” When a woman asks to be a flight attendant on his jet, he says, “You can work on my plane anytime,” then calls it a “death wish”—comparing himself to an alcoholic around Scotch.

maybe so but we also cheered every decision Olivia pope made so

Sarah Jessica Parker speaks out on the double standards faced by male and female characters on television: “A male lead on a show can be a murderer, and people love him. If a woman has an affair, behaves poorly, or spends money foolishly […] there’s a kind of punitive response to it.”

here are a couple more photographs of the pathetic trump supporter who was hopelessly shouting "you are the minority!" all by himself from within the vegetation

dame@dame.is

thread of photographs i took at my local protest (3) this trump supporter was the only counter-protestor i saw, and the police forced him to stand on the other side of a creek far away from the crowd of thousands — all alone, he helplessly kept trying to shout "you are the minority!"

Especially if you're on the fence about it, protest today. Fascism is isolating and lonely. Its very goal is to make you feel like you're the only person unwilling to accept a cult of personality. On days like today you fully realize there are more of us than there are them. You will feel better.

anyone complaining about this can join jk r*sling in her terfdom. get a life! it’s a children’s book!

Vulture@vulture.com

Fans of the Harry Potter books are spamming various HBO social accounts to complain about the casting of Paapa Essiedu as Snape, claiming Snape is canonically white. Yeah …

UPDATE: The House just passed the SAVE Act with a 220-208 vote that included 4 Democrats voting in support of the bill. This bill effectively codifies one of Trump's executive orders and will disenfranchise tens of millions of American voters.

Today, we’re voting on what Republicans are calling the “SAVE Act”—but let’s be real, it’s a straight-up voter suppression bill. They are literally trying to make it harder for millions of Americans to exercise their right to vote. I’m voting NO—hell no, actually.

he’s a little monster

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order aimed at ending ticket-price gouging for live entertainment. Musician Kid Rock, who also appeared at the Republican National Convention last July, was present at the signing in the Oval Office. cnn.it/4jchK7k

with every word this post gets more absurd

Vulture@vulture.com

Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox have extended their bloodline. The exes who were once close enough to drink each other’s blood welcomed a baby girl on March 27, answering the questions that Brian Austin Green apparently had about the due date.

members of congress should be able to be ousted/recalled by their constituents when they are this wildly and apologetically unpopular. your own district is booing you, you’re clearly not representing the things they want!

GOP representative: “I support Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency.” Town hall crowd: “BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!” Let’s keep making Republicans own their complicity in President Musk’s hostile takeover. Take action near you during this congressional recess: indivisible.org/muskorus

idk who I’m voting for yet but it’s nice to see someone do SOMETHING! more of this energy.

Wow. Watch this from Zohran Mamdani. It looks like the exact "fight" and "conviction" people are hopelessly asking for from the people in charge of the Democratic party:

Columbia grad student with a green card and a pregnant US citizen wife, abducted by ICE because of his political organizing, and now his lawyers can't find him. Hey, @schumer.senate.gov. This is your constituent. Bring him back home.

UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is. They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there. They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.

OH MY GOD ARE YOU SERIOUS?! THIS IS NOT THE MOVE OMFG RESPECTABILITY POLITICS ARE DEAD, DO SOMETHING USEFUL @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social

SCOOP: House Democratic leadership is "very unhappy" with those who went beyond traditional protest tactics, such as outfit coordination and refusal to clap during Trump's speech to Congress.
