Replying to @rafiews.com

We are watching a coup d’état attempt unfold in real time in Brazil. I’m consumed by desperation.

Under-radar stakes: Supreme Court elections. Justices who’ve upheld restrictions on abortion are up next month in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Texas. Justices who have sided with abortion access are up in Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Wyoming.

So important!

A downballot race to circle for November: In a Harris +9 county in Maryland, far-right sheriff who boasts about funneling 2,000 people into deportation faces seeks a sixth term. I wrote about him, and ICE, and immigrant rights organizing, in @boltsmag.org: boltsmag.org/frederick-co...

This scumbag just assaulted me in a store in the Washington DC area, to film it for “content”. If you see him call the police and let them know there are warrants for his arrest.

If you're a trans person based in Austin (or elsewhere in Texas for that matter) and have struggled to access gender-affirming care due to changes in insurance coverage OR because of trans healthcare bans at Catholic-owned medical centers, please reach out. the basic theory of DOGE was that if powerful people said it was fine it didn’t matter what the law said. I think proving that theory wrong is worth significant effort

darth™️@darthbluesky.bsky.social

seriously hope when dems get back in power they go after every single fuck involved with DOGE

Please help me share the post below. I don’t have a huge following, but this nomination is a bit under the radar and deserves more attention. His committee vote is this Thursday.

patrick mcneil (he/him)@patrickryne.bsky.social

NEW: US Attorney nominee Phil Williams has a long & disturbing history of attacking trans people and their parents. He said parents of trans children should be drowned. He also compared efforts to support gender-affirming care to slavery & the Holocaust. nominationnotes.substack.com/p/us-attorne...

The public made noise for Liam Ramos and it got him released from Dilley. Now we must make noise for 7 year old Diana Crespo. Her parents were taking her for emergency medical care when ICE grabbed them, and she’s rotting in the camp sick and exposed to measles. Get them out!

If Democrats haven't announced their proposal for the Donald Trump No Guns in Public bill by the end of the day, they're missing an easy shot

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "With that being said, you can't have guns. You can't walk in with guns. You just can't. You can't walk in with guns. You can't do that. But it's just a very unfortunate incident."

Hey Minnesotans. Have your bosses sent you a mealy-mouthed email about how to remain productive during these troubled times or some other example of non-committal, faux-concerned corporate-speak? We want to publish a bunch of these. Send examples to keith at racketmn.com. You will NOT be identified.

We're officially live. It's incredibly important to have a real record of how our public servants are behaving and this database will be a powerful tool for researchers, reporters, and ordinary Americans.

Any Democratic senator, at any moment, could've derailed this by calling for Schumer's replacement and casting their colleagues as MAGA collaborators, thereby shifting the Overton window. But they're all in on it. This was always a team effort.

Mike DeLuca reposted

Schumer will vote against the deal, but that does not matter. Either he gave the moderates nodding approval to their actions, or he is unable to keep his caucus together. This is his failure. @schumer.senate.gov should resign tonight (at least as leader) if this deal goes through.

Excessive force. PERIOD! They called them “violent mobs,” but the violence came from the guys with badges and body armor. 📌 Keep sharing videos, everyone, because they’re evidence.

A script you can use if you’re not good at speaking on the spot.

Dylan Roth@dylanroth.bsky.social

I just called Chuck Schumer’s office and, for the first time EVER, a person answered, who then politely entered my complaints into their call log. This tells me two things: 1) They’re not getting enough calls over there, and 2) If you want to yell at Schumer, today’s the day. (212) 486-4430

I have approximately zero following on this app, sharing in the hopes it can get in front of the right person. A man I went to college with’s wife was kidnapped by ICE at a green card hearing, and he’s trying to find a reporter who will speak to him about the situation
