Trump says he opposes any effort to regulate AI, but it's clear we cannot wait. It would be malpractice against the American public if he fails to use this summit with Xi to negotiate mutual safeguards to protect us & the world from catastrophic harm. www.politico.com/news/2026/09...

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities warns that as many as 15 million people could be placed at risk once the full apparatus is operating. States are now legally bound to strip healthcare coverage from millions and must complete first notices to tens of millions of enrollees by August 31.
Medicaid work requirements aren’t about getting people to work. Most already do. They’re a paperwork trap designed to kick millions off healthcare while more money flows to billionaires and war. www.wsws.org/en/articles/...

I'm going to try to hold two separate thoughts at once: 1. People should follow the law. Including Elon Musk. 2. Pre-filling absentee ballot applications and other steps to make voting easier aren't really problematic, and our laws and government APIs should empower outside orgs to help voters.
In October 2024, the Georgia secretary of state’s office launched an investigation after receiving numerous reports from residents across several counties saying they’d received partially prefilled absentee ballot applications from Musk’s America PAC. trib.al/n6hAZOC

Louisiana has refused to reconsider the convictions of 1,000+ mostly Black men sentenced by split juries, despite the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in 2020 that such convictions are unconstitutional and based on an inherently racist law. By @richardawebster.bsky.social

Also wild that no news outlet is talking about the fact that MN Speaker Melissa Hortman, her husband, and their dog were murdered in cold blood IN JUNE and the Trump admin did not give a fuck about the safety or well-being of Minnesotans then, so why should anyone believe that’s what it’s about now?
The blueprint seeks to reduce taxes on corporations, institute a flat income tax on individuals, cut Medicare and Medicaid, and reverse as many of President Joe Biden's policies as possible. It proposes banning pornography, removing legal protections against anti-LGBT discrimination, and endingdiversity
