I haven't posted here in a while, so naturally I'm coming back with a blog post about AI. I know. Over the winter holidays I built an app for my kids using agents. The interesting part was figuring out how to make the agent follow my process. I wrote up what I learned. mgratzer.com/posts/forgin...

Oh. I haven't recognized the port on top yet. Great addition.

After a week with the Switch 2, I think the biggest upgrade is having a charging port at the top and bottom

He did it again! Congratulations Klemens.

The Art of Fauna just *WON* an Apple Design Award in the Inclusivity category. 🤯 But it is also a finalist for Social Impact. 💚 Two nominations, one win. I still can't believe this. What a year 🥹 #indiedev #WWDC #WWDC25 #TheArtOfFauna

I can only share the sentiment. My fanboyism died a while ago, and I am moving on by viewing them as just another platform.

The recent episode of Under the Radar is really hitting a nerve. @marcoarment.bsky.social and David Smith (mastodon.social/@_Davidsmith) did a great job putting in words what many of us probably feel. If you are a dev in the Apple ecosystem go listen to it: www.relay.fm/radar/312

Today, I built my first web page with the static site generator Hugo and was amazed by its flexibility. For example, adding a custom shortcode to draw inline Mermaid graphs from markdown took me 10 minutes.

Happy Birthday 🥳

Buying ice skates the moment our lakes freeze is excellent timing 🤦‍♂️. The store is empty, folks are lining up, and there is only one expensive model left. Luckily, they are my size. There is no way around it; the kids need entertainment. ⛸️

The winter downtime reading hattrick is done by rereading a book every software engineer should know: Philosophy of Software Design by John Ousterhout. It's a concise journey with practical advice on reducing software complexity. I ended up with more notes than the publisher allowed 🙃.

Completed my first read for the winter downtime: Tiago Fortes's Building a Second Brain — good input for my note-taking. What interests me most is the PARA method for better clustering and discoverability; this is where my pile of bookmarks and digital and handwritten notes fall short.

The second read was an unplanned follow-up on Building a Second Brain with The PARA Method. It's a quick read with guidance for personal knowledge management, no rocket science, but that's the point: it is simple and fast to install. I’ll use it as guidance to revamp my knowledge hoarding.

Yeah, I put that in all my production prompts as well. What a time to be alive. You can be damn sure, that this type of prompt snippet is also used in the medical/legal/financial expert LLM system your corp just licensed :)

I've spent the 6 months working on a new approach to shared data in Swift: Forked. Main features: - Git-like branching and merging for Swift structs - Advanced merge algorithms (CRDTs) - Macros to make structs mergeable - Sync structs via CloudKit with <10 LOCs appdecentral.com/2024/12/13/n...

Occasionally, we see massive spikes in institutional downloads on App Store Connect — up to a 1000% increase in a single day from specific countries. Could this be spam or some scamming mechanism? Has anyone else experienced this or know what might cause it? Google wasn’t much help.

This is the most beautiful thread in a while, over on Mastodon. Harkank aka Erich, built a little antenna rig and wrote some code. chaos.social/@harkank/113... He's now able to read out a metric ton of sensors in his hood, including tire pressure sensors in cars. Zero info sec :D

As a paying subscriber, I have used it as a data hub/connector for my fitness data and have enjoyed the community there since “forever.” My training tool, Trainer Road, also seems affected, which is a significant use case for many.

You are up to date.
