@bad-example.com's Constellation is awesome. It's used everywhere on coffeencode.cc for loading record counts and comments!

Have at it. A PHP(8.5.12) Bluesky client. OAuth login, Bootstrap 4, jQuery, and loads everything without Bluesky's AppView by default thanks to @microcosm.blue It is a bit slow, especially when the caches are warming up. But that's a feature I hear. roomsky.app

The eMudhra intermediate CA compromise broadly impacts the atproto ecosystem. At this point lots of software has been patched, and we recommend upgrading if you run a distribution of the relay, pds, jetstream, or use the goat CLI. For general information see the site linked below, otherwise read on.

nice confirmation that slingshot's emudhra mitigation is working slingshot.microcosm.blue/xrpc/com.atp...
We have put together DID and handle resolution vectors that you can use to check if software you run may be vulnerable. The following handle should _not_ resolve to a DID: '@emudhra.divy.zone' The following DID should _not_ resolve to a DID document: 'did:web:emudhra.divy.zone'
updates to microcosm services and hosts are in progress. clients might experience disconnects or failed requests during brief periods as apps restart.
THIS IS NOT A DRILL. If you package/distribute/maintain root stores or chain verifiers, act immediately. If you know how to remove trust in a root, consider doing it now. Otherwise, prepare to update systems as patches/mitigations come. Go users, update to Go 1.27.3 or Go 1.26.10.

Browsing the new lexicons on @microcosm.blue is really exciting. They are just so many!!! ufos.microcosm.blue
Atmosphere update: atproto apps are growing 20% month over month, and last week we passed 1,000 daily active apps.
🌕 Service note: microcosm jetstream (Montreal) lagging jetstream.fire.hose.cam can't keep up with the number of clients connected. just rolled out a change that stops it from *dropping* events, but now it is falling behind. alts: ⌥ jetstream2.fr.hose.cam (EU) ⌥ jetstream1.us-east.fire.hose.cam

🌕 jetstream server swap in progress, should be back up within 20mins (only jetstream.fire.hose.cam affected)

I built a Bluesky post backlink index for @shelf.cafe and wrote up all the juicy technical details. Features kite+jetstream, @microcosm.blue's constellation, and amazingly, bloom filters! One of the most fun blog posts I've written. jola.dev/posts/buildi...

Proposal from @bad-example.com to add STAR to DASL. Any concerns or issues? It looks pretty damn well motivated to me :) tangled.org/dasl.ing/das...
microcosm gateway migration done, with new automation for future provisioning and maintenance. all droplets deleted. 13-year-old digitalocean account deleted, no more money for this shit.
the primary microcosm api gateway is still running on a digitalocean droplet. hopefully will be able to move it next week so i can close my account there. wish i didn’t always have such a backlog.
STAR could be the serialization format for atproto spaces! maybe! the v1 format isn’t finalized yet, so now is a great time to share feedback and help shape it!
restructured the repo a bit, took i think pretty much all suggestions, and split out the application profile and changelog bits. it's now a short spec! (yay!)

PART TWO: All the other reasons i don't like CARs for atproto repo exports! In this one: ambiguities and inefficiencies. (the biggest problem is already hopefully getting fixed in the IETF draft though, yay!)

alright here it is, my hit-piece on CARs in atproto, with a big ecosystem survey

in a bleak world where LLMs threaten to drain all joy from software development (full disclosure: I vibed @svebcomponents/atproto & it sparked loads of joy) the atmosphere is such a fresh breath of air with a great ecosystem - shoutout to @microcosm.blue, @pds.dad & @pfrazee.com y'all are inspiring!

Thanks to a PR from @willem.dobs.nl, check.cirrus.earth now validates the CAR commit object signature using the @microcosm.blue verifier code.

It's been a fun week of figuring out the new jetstream sync engine but ALSO trying out @microcosm.blue Hubble at the same time. I set out with a mission to build a service to report follow counts and ended up working with them both. Check out my write up on my new @pckt.blog 50 Shades of Protocol.

Stalled just shy of 29 million so until @zzstoatzz.io wakes up to see what's up it's time to start the second test. Backfilling the entire social graph with @microcosm.blue hubble, ETA 24 hours.
How long does it take to backfill the entire social graph with jetstream? I'm around 18 hours in at 18,856,850 accounts 17GB with compression

ok yay (doesn't use bluesky appview, uses selfhosted slingshot + the public instances of @microcosm.blue (with plans to selfhost the rest later if i put this up anywhere...))
normally we'd take the failing one out of DNS rotation immediately, but the DNS provider is currently in the midst of its own outage, so we can't update the records.

If you've backfilled the network before, you probably noticed the 65k bridged accounts you couldn't sync. …until a week ago! Bridgy Fed's `getRepo` is now open, and served by Hubble!
