Spent some time in Iowa and went long on Iowa State’s Audi Crooks. Despite her dominance, she deals with a lot of negativity, especially about her body. But no matter what is said about her, Audi Crooks wears a smile. www.espn.com/womens-colle...

The framing of transgender existence as ideology is unscientific and bigoted. Just because it is widely used by the GOP and broader political right does not mean media and pollsters need to use the bigoted framing to be neutral. They shouldn’t. They should only ever note the scientific consensus.

Assigned Media@assignedmedia.org

Polling on trans issues is difficult to interpret. It becomes even more difficult when pollsters use politically charged terms like 'transgender ideology.' Great new analysis by @billiejsweeney.bsky.social, only on Assigned Media. www.assignedmedia.org/breaking-new...

I have two primary vehicles. One is an automobile, the other an e-bike. Automobiles kill approximately 100 people a day in the US. E-bikes, fewer than 10 a year. Guess which one has a speed limiter on it?

This technology already exists and is widely used. It doesn't involve 'government surveillance' and would not allow ICE or any other government agency to stop individual cars. Just say you think thousands of kids dying every year is worth it so you can speed! www.autoweek.com/news/a615322...

We told you Palestine was testing grounds to export genocide. Now believe us when we tell you Alberta is the testing grounds in Canada. Even if you have never been an advocate for the LGBTQ community, her anti-trans laws are genocidal.

Replying to @markagee.bsky.social

yeah my takeaway here is that entire level of the social strata simply needs to be destroyed and not allowed to exist. When you reach $999 M we give you a plaque and tax you at 99%

The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll

Minneapolis should press its momentum and demand not only withdrawal but start talking about the need for immediate reparations, loudly, with the total certainty that only winners have. "You have wronged us terribly and must pay recompense" and let them argue the second part.

Hey, @markcarneyforpm.bsky.social would be nice if our government protected it’s citizens as effectively as Malaysia and Indonesia and also blocked this vile service. At least stop making official government comms through X.com and direct your caucus to leave that awful place.

In 2024, I rose in Senate QP to ask why the Govt of Canada was still using X for official communications. Today, they are still there. What exactly will it take to break the spell?

This is such a good article that really hits at the threat that AI truly poses to humanity. It isn't sentient agents that eventually turn against humanity (the spin that Altman, Amodei, Musk, et al have put on it).

It provides them cover, where they can claim that it's merely and objective summary of all human knowledge, instead of the thumb-on-the-scale influence of their right-wing pickled, wealth-addled minds.

It's that a handful of deca-billionaires are creating scalable echo chambers based on their own perverse worldview. It's a proxy fight on what truth is. It's allowing billionaires to launder the nonsense in their group chats straight into the brains of millions of users.

Just saw a couple of teens ride by me in a regional park. They were doubling on an e-bike, and had two fishing rods on the back. It’s November in Vancouver, and I think the kids are alright.

And yet there isn’t a single thing any one of them desired yesterday that they couldn’t afford two of today.

“It’s critical that we avert a government shutdown so that Trump and Musk can achieve their goal of privatizing it.” I’m not even American and I think this is stupid.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Schumer on CBS claims "one of the Republican senators who knows said to us, 'you'll be in the shutdown for six to nine months until we totally destroy the federal government.' So the shutdown was a much worse alternative."

NEW - BC will be introducing legislation allowing B.C. to apply tolls/fees to U.S. commercial vehicles using B.C. infrastructure to travel to Alaska. This comes as President Trump pauses tariffs again. #bcpoli

A psychotic billionaire bought a social media platform and turned it into a cesspool of white supremacists but sure, the people going elsewhere to post are the problem.

Some observers warn that progressives risk placing themselves in an echo chamber—or ceding a much larger user base to their opponents—if they abandon the rival posting site, X.

Meanwhile, in Canada we add little bits of discomfort to ensure people - housed or otherwise - don’t get too comfortable on our public infrastructure.
