Everyday moments that won't show up in traffic models but are just as valuable—helping children develop, relationships flourish and communities thrive.

BTW I've been looking for and applying for remote media jobs for over a year now. Freelancing is really taking a toll on my mental health, so lmk if you are an editor who wants a new reliable freelancer or if you find any open positions for an excellent, enthusiastic writer.

The myth Alberta 'subsidizes' the rest of Canada is the most powerful meme in the separatist armoury. But it's utterly false. I show that most Albertans get more back from federal programs than they personally pay in federal taxes, for @thetyee.ca: thetyee.ca/Opinion/2026... #abpoli /2

The last time I looked (and it was a while ago), the US content in a Bombardier jet was higher than the US content in a Gulfstream jet. (In both cases, the planes are predominantly US content.)

We’ve been over this before: Every Global 7500 that Bombardier builds in 🇨🇦 has 2 GE engines built in Indiana, 🇺🇸. Every Challenger that Bombardier builds in 🇨🇦 has 2 Honeywell engines built in Arizona. 🇺🇸. Bombardier employs 3,000+ 🇺🇸s & has 2,800 🇺🇸 suppliers. Not so smart.

For once, House Speaker Mike Johnson and I agree. If losing the midterms means Trump’s presidency is effectively over, fine—let’s take him at his word. The House is within reach, and suddenly, so is the Senate. No victory laps yet. Show up, vote, and finish the job. #Midterms2026 #USPolitics

Urbanist Philomena Cunk. To keep cyclists safe, the council will sometimes paint a thin stripe of green paint on the edge of the road. This is very thoughtful, because it gives delivery drivers a brightly colored VIP parking space to wait in while they drop off a parcel.

Part of what makes the smear “radical bike lobby” so comical is that there really isn’t some deep-pocketed lobby behind bike lane advocacy. The industry has totally abdicated any role in promoting infrastructure for bike riding, unlike the auto industry.
