"What is it like to be a teen right now?" Young artists explored that question for two different exhibitions of their work this summer. But on the National Mall, their work was deemed too political.

Here's a little Rhinoceros Dung Beetle (Oxysternon conspicillatum) face to brighten your day! 📷 desertnaturalist on iNaturalist 📍 Colombia 🔗: www.inaturalist.org/observations... #ObservationOfTheDay
Read this. It's important to not let the official distract you from actual documented history.
Video + eyewitnesses dispute this account from @50501movement.bsky.social . Despite having never fired a shot, a long-time community activist is in jail, after protest security opened fire + injured him, also shooting + killing another demonstrator. Read this: www.thehandbasket.co/p/salt-lake-...
Strong probability these aren't ICE at all, just criminals conducting a kidnapping in broad daylight. They don't move or sound like they have any official recent LEO training. Nobody is wearing armor either. AZ tags on the truck as well.
ICE raiding a crowded supermarket in Rosemead, California with no identification, indistinguishable from cartel hitmen, pulling high caliber rifles on unarmed US citizens trying to ask questions about wtf is going on. #3E #StopICE

Liberals fear that if people act unruly, Trump will be able to impose totalitarian control. That gets things backwards. Trump is already imposing totalitarian control. That's what is driving people into the streets. It's too late to avoid this fight. We can be passive and lose—or give it our all.
Worth the read. Hesitation and lack of information are always the main contributors to negative outcomes in volatile situations.

there is no rioting. nobody is looting. Nobody is burning random stuff down. This is just americans rising up to protect their neighbors from the ICE brownshirts.
I guess no one’s ever going to learn the lesson that rioting in the streets almost always benefits the right wing in American politics. Save me your speeches about Watts. It’s been almost a perfect record since 1968.
🧊 posing as utility workers in Tucson.
“Tucson Electric Power confirmed workers do not use unmarked vehicles and always provide identification.” They also have a website for folks to be able to properly identify TEP workers, their uniform, & their official vehicle. These neighbors recognized these guys were suspicious and so can you:
This cancer has a very low prognosis (15% 5yr survival rate) and dude was already mid 70s when diagnosed. He should have stepped down immediately, much less sidelining AOC on the oversight committee. Term limits would solve these problems. Even if 6 terms in Congress, he'd've been out 5 years ago
The gerontocracy has consequences, episode one million and three.

The cartoonish-looking salamanders have faced an uncertain future in the wild. But researchers hope that breeding axolotls in captivity and releasing them in the wild can help their numbers.

I've been saying he acts like Mao, thinks he's Stalin, but ultimately is going to be Trotsky'd 😅
So why isn't this talked about more. Individual income tax makes up 50% of US tax revenue, to the tune of $2.5 BILLION! Payroll tax (SSA, Medicare, unempl) is 40% and that comes from our individual wages too. Fuck effective rates, corps pay only 10% into the system. Are they only 10% of US wealth?
I keep seeing A LOT of individual grass roots about a tax protest. Not a campaign or general strike, just people saying "why am I actively paying the government to make my life worse?" All I'll say is that intl law says it's a civic duty to protest taxes if your govt is committing war crimes.
Also, it's interesting to think about the odds of being personally audited if there were a general tax strike AND the IRS workforce is gutted. I'd watch a @3blue1brown.com video on the subject and I would even encourage them to take sports betting sponsorships for it, just for the lulz 😅
