Literally enlisting people in using growth hacking tactics *against* the networks themselves. I don't know that this is replicable, I don't know how this changes down the line against an adversary who might be even more brazen in their interference, but it worked this time.

What's striking to me are the rules of engagement and the methodology of action here, which more or less is predicated on burying liberal delusions about "debate" or the "marketplace of ideas". The rules were ultimately very simple: amplify your own message and suppress your opponent's.

She also really debunks the common justifications about religion, region, and age. Your grandparents and parents have shitty values because they have shitty values, not because of anything else. They could do better. Anyone can use their eyes to see the world and have the correct read.

What Dolly taught us is that it is in fact possible to be wealthy beyond your wildest dreams of avarice but still be a fundamentally good person with a strong moral compass, and the only reason more rich people aren't like that is because they don't want to be.

The ONE thing that the PodSave guys and the Bro'cialist set managed to agree on after a decade post-2016 is they hate "HR Ladies" who remind them of their moms more than fascism, and they don't want to get off that horse yet.

Angry at those who keep pretending it’s all just about “economic anxiety” and “polarization.” Angry at the fact that we are constantly asked to come up with exculpatory tales, to please not call those pursuing a political project of re-segregation racists - so mean! - or segregationists.

Angry about a mainstream discourse that has somehow declared it uncouth, or not “sophisticated” enough, or too “divisive” to acknowledge that racism, patriarchal domination, and Christian supremacism are the animating forces in today’s Republican Party.

This is why Democrats have to start fighting on the same battlefield as the fascist tech billionaires. Bot nets, troll farms astroturf groups, dark money SuperPACs, demoralizing and shaming messaging targeted at MAGA voters, social media algorithm manipulation on a massive scale.

There is way more motivation for them to constantly scan for evidence black people are overreacting than motivation to be aggressive about racism and other types of oppression. Thats the only reason this "anti-woke" thing got legs in the first place.

There are people still living who fought — and watched their compatriots be murdered — for the passage of this act and to attempt to democratize America. To see it completed felled in the span of their OWN lifetime is just absolutely devastating.

Not to get on my soapbox, but... ...honestly, if the new tech bubble has shown us anything, people who are already wealthy don't want us to think for ourselves. They want us to dream of their future, not ours. But we should do it anyway. 🧼 📦
