microsoft have essentially bought up and bulldozed almost an entire american arts industry as a half-hearted distraction from their main project of trying to monopolise and rent-seek global digital infrastructure and military contracts

decided not to get fortune's weave (at least until my fire emblem friend endorses it) and instead trying to actually complete Three Houses. kind of fun to boot up a 7 year old save file and try to reconstruct wtf was going on. immediately dumped into a context-free duneworm fight

I feel like I've played a lot of it because I have like >30 hours over two save files but I never even made it out of chapter 1!!!

I think it's a shame how badly we depict wetlands on maps. Everything's either "water" or "land" but places like the Everglades or the Sudd are like in between and you wouldn't know what they're like at a glance looking at a world map.

just learning this now and I am flabbergasted. why do they do that?

They still do, at least Nintendo of America does. If you watch a UK Nintendo Direct you'll see that they just say "game" instead of "the [game] game" like in the US. Which means that they make the narrator record two versions of the same line every time he mentions the name of a Nintendo game.

accidentally borked all electron apps after a software update somehow so I guess its finally time to learn vim keybinds so I can blog

minor pet peeve but sometimes people say a game has "quality of life" changes and its like relative to what? and they just mean its like easier and less complicated than a different game its similar to

sometimes people act like there is a single primordial bad video game and we are on an eternal quest from that to the single optimal good video game and I find it annoying

Good afternoon, I've just discovered as a result of seeing this post that there's an absolutely exasperated community page with advice about how to deal with Trump pronouncements and actions

A Wikipedia editor put it well: "You almost want to pat them on the head and say 'Yes, of course it will' in the same way you'd tell a small child that Santa Claus will be delivering their presents."

I have a vivid memory of reading a book in the 3rd grade about a kid who figures out how to make humans do photosynthesis and he gets stopped by like the FBI who kindly explain that if people didn't have to buy food anymore the entire economy would collapse

Bikes are an economic disaster. The only things I bought for my bike in the past year were brake pads. At this rate, how are corporations going to make money? How are they going to buy politicians? How will I ever go into debt? Who are we going to bomb? The whole foundation of our economy is shot.

as happy as I am Markey won, I'm disappointed in how many state legislators kept their jobs cough decker cough

saw The Blues Brothers over the weekend and its crazy that it's almost as old now as Minnie The Moocher was when they released it. They should make a new one about two zany white boys who are really into funk or something and then Chaka Khan could still be in it
