Instrumental in Lula's victory was Erika Hilton a black transgender woman. Natalie Bennett owning the moment being photographed standing next to the most openly transphobic senior Green party member.

a few pics of Chesterfield & North Derbyshire Together held on Saturday as well as our amazing guest speaker who joined us and spoke on how far right hate is used against trans people and refugees it's been such a fantastic and successful weekend! we won't be divided! no to racism, no to hate!

been on HRT for 6 yrs now but *effective* HRT for only 2 weeks the difference is phenomenal life is so easy, i am dangerously capable and so cheerful it's starting to wind people up what the fuck is this what other people have been getting is this how it's supposed to be

well done BMA, we need more unions and organisations calling out the exclusions present within the recent guidance

The BMA@bma.org.uk

We are deeply concerned that this high-level guidance will result in local policies that are exclusionary to trans and non-binary staff and patients. It will affect their ability to access and work in the NHS and have negative consequences for cisgender people.

had this question a few times - usually in healthcare settings. once, hilariously, in A&E after i sprained my ankle. Mx has been my legal title since 2016 - over ten years. and i'll never not love it.

β€œIs Mx your first name?” πŸ˜… A question I’ve actually been asked in court. Mx is a gender-neutral title, pronounced β€œmix”. From forms to everyday conversations, small changes in language can make room for more people. Does your workplace offer Mx? πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

this is great work - if horrifying in its details. the new guidance puts children in danger of isolation and abuse, potentially with no safe adults to turn to. teachers should not become the bullies of the children at their school.

New report is out today: Not Safe to Be Me: Young people's experiences of KCSIE and RSE 2026 in England, by Pride in Education and Cool2BTrans. Our report highlights the UK Government-sponsored harm being caused to trans kids in schools. Read it here:https: cool2btrans.co.uk/not-safe-to-...

The French protests aren’t race based or about migration. This is a narrative being pushed by the global far right. It is literally about the French government’s austerity measures against schools and education. The fact the debate has been morphed to be about race shows how racist the UK press is

flyingrodent@flyingrodent.bsky.social

Don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, but this feels somewhat complacent, given that we arguably have at least three far right political parties, we’ve had two years of violent far right rioting and targeted attacks on minorities, and the largest far right march since before World War II was last year.

"I had to stay with my Mum in an emergency ward because my mum might have been scared by a trans person being there, who may or may not have actually been trans." Is the sort of moral panic logic that should be inexcusable from our elected officials, actually.

I was pleased to bring solidarity today to traffic wardens and teaching assistants who are members of Camden UNISON, on strike today. I raised the March Against Austerity, taking place on the 27th October, on the eve of Budget day. This is a way we can call for proper funding for our services.

solidarity. what the Green councils are doing gives a lot of support to trans folks who are (rightly) refusing to comply with the EHRC guidance

Cllr Dr Max Morris@maxmorris.bsky.social

Green councillor Max Morris proposed the motion and described "unacceptable levels of abuse on social media" for representatives who had previously put forward a proposal... They said that experience is "something that many of us are all too familiar with" www.thisisoxfordshire.co.uk/news/2661155...

the Greens motion on Zionism is right; Israel is a settler colonialist project inextricable from the racism within which it was founded. good achievement and a massive win for the Palestine movement. shows the new Green members can push against the old guard. socialistworker.co.uk/news/why-gre...

For all that it's been barely reported in the UK press, it's still hard to understate the importance of the stance @labourunionsuk.bsky.social has taken on trans and non-binary rights this week. Every single trade union affiliated to the party of government has stood up and said we will not comply.

I'll believe Burnham is a progressive when he brings forward laws to undo our historically hostile position against LGBTQ+ people, immigrants and refugees, and protesters. Until then he's just Blue Labour with better vibes.
