There are two types of Commander players: those that think paying 7 mana to do something is unplayable, and those that look forward to paying 7 mana to do something

Good, honest, human writing has such a flavor to it. I'm in the middle of a chapter in Sally Rooney's "Intermezzo," and I come across the following throwaway line: "Outside in the street below, brown brittle leaves drift over the parked cars." So simple. So lovely. So human.

look if shit is so dire for the democrats that they NEED every vote from trans people, maybe they shouldn't run candidates who are transphobic or fold on even the slightest pushback to trans rights it's not our fault y'all's guys suck

Not gonna lie, seeing Abdul El-Sayed and AOC working together to dunk on Republicans gives me hope I haven't had in a long while. Can you imagine those two on a presidential ticket? Oh my god.

Commercials for BYU, George Fox, Grand Canyon Univ., etc. are so hilarious to me. Christians try so hard to be cool, but it's just never gonna happen.

Somehow only just now discovering that Korea has vinyl bars where people come in to get a drink and vibe to hand-picked jazz records... CAN THIS PLEASE BE SOMETHING OVER HERE?

Tough to watch this game five between the Guardians and the White Sox... If anyone deserves a World Series appearance after multiple seasons with 100+ losses, it's Chicago. But man has Cleveland put on a show tonight.

Sitting out on the lawn of White River Amphitheater waiting for THE Hayley Williams to come on... This show is going to kick some serious ass.

Echoverse Mike only ever plays Dimir card theft or, when he wants to play with his food, Slivers. Jace must be stopped.

as a reader of historical romances i have to say the thing where she makes him give up his elaborate revenge plot to prove his love?? baffling. unrealistic. girl this is a group project now

I spent most of the summer playing through Tears of the Kingdom again (this time on the Switch 2 version), and took my time to savor it. Today, I beat it. And I still cried. These games (BotW/TotK) are just so good. I will never be over it. The art design, the gameplay, everything. ❤️

A particularly infuriating aspect of this A.I. bullshit is that nobody seems to remember that we all got along just fine without it for centuries. How are we all suddenly incapable of reading and understanding written words? Of creating art? Of telling stories? It’s madness.

This is only right take here. E.g. college-educated adults- staff members and teachers at a public school- get asked as an icebreaker to make up a poem or a drawing or something creative to express themselves, and THEY USE CHATGPT TO SPIT OUT A NONSENSE LIMERICK UGGHH Be a human. Reject AI.

If you want to build community, don’t use gen AI. Instead of asking ChatGPT ask your librarian, friend, neighbor or your long distant cousin twice removed. Put your human noggin together and create! Human connection can be more inconvenient and time-consuming but you end up with so much more.

Every time I teach Gatsby I have this exact thought. So accurate.

You ever read one of the classics that's pretty well-regarded and just think "man, this guy really hated women"

No one’s calling it Lake America. “Lake America” is what you name a summer camp for soft children who say, “Don’t you know who my father is?” after a t-ball stand strikes them out

Dolly Parton was universally loved because she was a rich person who knew what it was like to be poor, stayed down to earth, and spent her life giving back to others who were less fortunate. The oligarchs who don’t understand why everyone hates them probably won’t learn from this. But they should
