And Bowers v Hardwick, which upheld state sodomy laws, came out in -1986- which was a generation after Stonewall. Lawrence v Texas came out when W was President! It really wasn't inevitable right after Stonewall. And it wasn't that long ago. Much more recent than Roe was when it was overturned.
