Another exercise in seeing where I can take the well-worn concept of a Dead Simple clone: 1) only Dead Simple textures (plus solid colors); 2) sky is the special MAP07 action code from the Doom source code; 3) yeah, I’m gonna need a sector Mancubus and Arachnotron 😆

Companies forcing you to use AI is peak "Look, we're paying a lot of money for this tech, you have to use it or it will look like we made a bad investment."

I'm damn sure at this point that the "decompiling" race is only for clout, because the amount of money that it costs could go to a person or group that will do the same thing, but better/more carefully. But no, why credit somebody else, when YOU are gonna be in the slow-day news article, instead?

The funny thing is, it would be more apt to credit the AI companies with the accomplishment than the prompt engineer who shoved the game into its fetid maw!

Devastating news today. Richard “Levelord” Gray was such a great guy. Like many of our friends, I wish I could have hung out with him again. He was full of life, a gentle soul, and an excellent level designer. He was called “Levelord” for a reason.

RIP Mapper Legend, king of "You're Not Supposed to be Here" secrets.

Richard B. Gray - LEVELORD 11/15/1957 - 10/12/2026 Just heard the news that an old friend of mine has passed on. Richard Gray - aka Levelord has departed the planet. I know he's dealt with cancer on and off for awhile now, a word that I cannot stand. Word comes from his wife Olga.

Most AI-driven game development seems to produce results like what most developers that slap stuff together do without figuring out *why* they're slapped together in that way, except the stuff that is slapped together only *appears* to be competent, making it an uncanny valley of sub-novice garbage.

After SiN Reloaded, now is the time to talk about the stuff I made for Heretic+Hexen; It was my first ever work at Nightdive & Im still quite proud of it, so I wanted to share my process on how I did world textures, maps, skylines, titlepics, achievement icons, and sprites! #gamedev #pixelart 👇

Just throwing this out there: if you've ever wanted to work with me as a composer or sound designer, I've got availability opening up toward the end of this year and into next year. If you've got a project in mind, even if you're not ready to commit yet, I'd love to start the conversation. 👋

Testing VJDhewm to make a short lyric video. VJDhewm is a simple VJ tool that I've been building with Slade and Ultimate Doom Builder and it's currently running under UZDoom engine. All transitions and movements in this video are controlled manually with keyboard. #WIP

After 1.5 years since release candidate 1, here is RC2 of Faithless: Trilogy! We're so close to finalisation. Comes with no new level(s) like I promised, but tons of changes which should heighten and smooth out the overall gameplay experience. Please report any problems you may find! Link ⬇

There should be a new phrase or term for "things that don't actually pass the Turing Test but still fools idiot tech people into thinking it's sentient."
