I believe that DOJ has 30 days to get a grand jury indictment after charging on information unless Comey waived his right to a grand jury indictment, which I kind of doubt. That 30 days would expire 11/4. Is that correct @joycewhitevance.bsky.social @barbmcquade.bsky.social @rparloff.bsky.social ?

They extended the 30 to allow his challenge to proceed. But he's arguing charging by information is improper. I actually think they may have SOL wrong in any case.

Drones and other robots do have a huge number of civilian and society-benefiting uses. We need ways for talented people to be able to work on those applications, without having to compromise their morals to build weapons for ICE (and similar malignant buyers).

I will also note that there used to be a LOT of money being directed at purely civilian drone use cases and companies until a couple years ago. Trump 2.0 has had a hugely destructive impact here, especially in the U.S.

i know that's an absurd lift and unlikely right now. i'm just trying to imagine what kind of structures you would even create to stop / vet the startups that are already impacting weather and obscuring the stars.

And yet, this particular president has demonstrated repeatedly that he can be counted upon to claim as rigged any election in which he or his friends didn't win / aren't currently winning / appear unlikely to win. He banged that drum in 2017 for months, despite already having assumed office.
