Repeated infections being a “fact of life” is a framing designed to make you think something is naturally inevitable rather than the expected result of a series of public health decisions designed with something other than your health and safety at the forefront.

Help shape how we teach those in healthcare about Long COVID in BC! Our interdisciplinary team at SFU, UBC, and PHSA are recruiting people living with Long COVID as well as healthcare providers working in ED/UPCC settings to participate in 75-minute focus groups. #LongCOVID #BChealthcare #BCCOVID

I long for the halcyon days when you could dip an SOS scrubber in water and not have it disintegrate into a million little shards of metal that jam under your fingernails.

Men, it’s never too late to leave your fraternity. Membership is lifelong. And these segregationist institutions use your name to uphold the power they abuse. This is what your fellow alums are doing. Do you really want to be associated with that?

"Canada strong", "national interest", "sovereignty", "Orange Scary Bad Man" -- all propaganda to get Canadians to accept the erosion of climate protections, food security, labour rights, Indigenous rights, the public sector, and public ownership. And all working very well indeed.

He’s using “in the national interest” the same way premiers have used the notwithstanding clause to violate rights. He legislated a bill specifically to do this.

another thing that hurts my heart is how much people who still mask do to understand why both strangers and loved ones feel the way they do about masking—or lack thereof—but there is rarely such curiosity the other direction, but rather, more often, almost a simmering contempt.

I truly, deeply, sincerely do think the guy flipping burgers at McDonalds should be able to afford rent, bills, and groceries with his paycheck alone. That's kind of the whole point of having a job and I can't believe this is considered a radical position.🤷🏽‍♀️

This is genuinely disinformation. Vaccines are great are reducing severity, they do not greatly reduce your risk of getting sick, and even that effect wanes within a few months. Masking with n95s or kn95s and cleaning the air are the best protections against getting sick.

If you showed up at Defcon and gave talk about how your autonomous malware did something unexpected and damaged someone else's computers, the first question from the audience would be "Why are you so shit at making secure sandboxes?" It wouldn't be "How are you so awesome at making hacking tools?"
