Waiting for the next team to breakthrough. Nats, Caps, Hokies, Commanders and Mystics mostly.

The Caps won the Stanley Cup on a Thursday night and besides sleeping I was never more than an hour between drinks until the following Monday (helped by a fortuitously timed morning wedding reception that Saturday that was in the area). Although that was only skipping one day of work.

Milwaukee challenge: can you keep a bender going from the Brewers seemingly inevitable win until the Packers game on Thursday

Check swing replay definitely has the feel of offside replay in soccer where people will become quickly annoyed when things like a batter's hand just crossing the line even though the barrel stays well behind is called a swing

The way this is presented suggests either 1) She is feeding it a lot of personal data for it to come up with an answer she believed 2) It just threw out three adjectives like a horoscope and she accepted it 3) She described how she felt about her daughter and asked the AI to summarize it for her

Badger fans watching their team embarrass Lincoln Riley’s USC and the Brewers tie the World Series on the big screen

Now that the Hokies have locked up the win, man was it sad to see Clemson resort to having their QB just start running every other play to try to generate offense. They are extremely broken.

speaking of Jonny DeLuca, this is one of my favorite pics ever when he was in Double-A, trying for a ball down the right field line. Just perfect timing on the shot

I like it for five and six, at that distance I don't know why you think your punter can outrun the closing defenders

They're making a game out of 17776?

EA Sports is working on a new open-world football game, seemingly separate from Madden and College Football. https://bit.ly/3VYyOrc

If I had nickel for every playoff home run hit off the foul pole in the seventh inning in a stadium named for an orange juice company I'd have two nickles which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

The one thing I'll miss about Dan Snyder is he would've followed up the massive disappointment and embarrassment of these last two weeks with a sudden announcement of a ridiculous new tribute to Sean Taylor.

All of those assistants making sure Lanning correctly called for 2 instead of 1 reminded me of this

Oregon gets the TD and this time Dan Lanning realizes they need to go for 2

I mean obviously it was incorrectly cleared but it's weird they don't bother to even attempt to say why. Did the review center forget they were supposed to be checking the time? Did they have access to some secret third clock that said time had run out and forget to check if it was right?

NEWS: The Big 12 one second should have been put back on the clock in BYU's win over Notre Dame. Incorrectly cleared by the replay center.

You can see the clock in the corner in the slow mo replay very clearly and the clock is still on :01 when the ball hits the ground
