Socially awkward bon vivant. I’m just here to talk sports, bikes, music, maybe bitch a little bit, and make jokes. I hate bullies and punching down. Opinions are my own. RT is not an endorsement.

Why is it that the 'I don't follow politics' folks always seem to end up being bald-faced liars?

David at FOIAball@foiaball.com

Last month, Kirk Herbstreit said he doesn't follow politics or pick sides. Which was nonsense. Just last week, Herbstreit quietly headlined a fundraising dinner for Alabama's second-biggest PAC. The very next day, the PAC sent $155,000 to Tommy Tuberville. www.foiaball.com/p/kirk-herbs...

Been thinking about this since yesterday. Yes, it feels like people have gotten meaner in general. But I will say, those that haven't seem to have gotten more kind and inclusive. It feels like there's just been a hollowing out of the 'decent center.'

As much as chatbots pose real risks in myriad ways, I don't think LLMs would have been adopted/pushed so fast without years of COVID isolation. People seem legitimately meaner now. And hell, I still deal with some social anxiety I didn't have pre-COVID lockdown.

The @shutdownfullcast.bsky.social has spent all season making fun of scheduling in college sports, where teams have to play on the wrong coast at dumb hours. Ha ha college sports! Pro sports are run by responsible adults and would never have a potential championship game at 9:30 am PT on a Thursday

Y'all, it's fucking embarrassing how marginalized women's sports are on television. I just tried to tune into Game 5 of the WNBA Finals and had to scroll past three different broadcasts of Monday Night Football, through every sports channel on YoutubeTV, until I found it on CNBC.

CNBC and USA Network. (oh, and it's on Peacock, I guess) And Game 6 is at 9:30am Pacific.

There are few things that can make you feel old faster than having a doctor say 'There's nothing I can do to make it better. I can only stop it from getting worse.'

I have a torn bicep, an arthritic knee, and sciatica and I could DL 315 for reps in jeans without a warm up. Whoever this guy is, he ain't special.

Guys whose whole thing is obsessing relentlessly over the righteousness of patriarchy and aLpHa masculinity are flexing and high-fiving over ... a one-rep deadlift max of 315lbs/143kgs.

I both do and don’t want to know his opinion on the Lorax…

too many guys are bad-weird now, we need more with this kind of good-weird energy

D3's Linfield Wildcats have officially extended the nation's longest streak of consecutive winning seasons 70 years(!) after beating Pacific Lutheran, 41-0. The Wildcats are 5-1 in their 9-game regular season.

My friends in HS routinely drove across the border illegally to go drink at Canadian bars once they turned 18. It was like a rite of passage to get some booze in Emerson, Manitoba.

Between losing a game in the final seconds to Dylan Raiola and watching Scott Frost knock off the #2 team in the country in a one-possession game... this has to have been a rough week for Nebraska fans.

A train leaves Orlando headed north at a speed of 57 mph. At the same time, a van leaves Provo heading east at 72 mph. If Scott Frost summons Ggronlip, The Eater of Time, where will the train and the van intersect?

This should be referring to a bunch of games today. So many teams did not deserve to win.

They gotta reinstate ties just for games like this

So...the kicker got his helmet ripped off, which was somehow not a foul. But it DOES require a ten second runoff? Make this make sense.

Hold up, UCF isn't letting the kicker who recovered his own blocked kick kick again? That seems both prudent and mean.
