it’s always funny to me when people try to paint react as some kind of β€œbig company” propaganda. it was like one person’s wild idea and then there was at most ~5 people maintaining it for years. people HATED it when fb open sourced it. the only reason it won is because the model was actually good

planners: our two universities will be at the end of a peninsula and at the top of a mountain people: won't people complain about how removed they are from the city? planners: almost immediately people: will rapid transit be created in response? planners: we'll talk about it for decades, but no

One of Vancouver's great disadvantages as a city is that its two main universities are far from downtown. That's a problem! Because universities are natural cultural hubs -- museums, concerts halls, and sports facilities. That stuff should be where people can get to it!

πŸ₯³ We raised some money. Expo is the best it's ever been, and this round of funding will help us get a lot better. Released a massive update of my coffee timer app, Single Origin. I wanted to brew the roaster-created recipes available on the Fellow Aiden & xBloom, so I built an app that guides you through every pour, agitation, etc. Since it's built with Expo, it runs on iOS, WatchOS, Android, & Web. πŸ‘‡

𝝠 Expo passed 2 Million weekly npm downloads over the weekend. It wasn't a milestone we were tracking or aiming for. But it feels great to get there. It's a credit to the hardworking team at Expo and to the community of devs that contribute and support Expo. Thank you!
