Excellent news! One of those things that has been easy to ask for, but doubtless takes a while to get the right plumbing behind the scenes.

Travelling in London can be complex, and even more so if you're dependent on having access to toilets along the way. We've made it easier to find in TfL Go - tap on any station on the map, and if toilets are there, tap the new 'Toilet facilities' button for detailed info.

In related news, nobody ever successfully claimed my £2.75 City Tree Prize (tm) Pedestrianisation is a great example of what investment in streets can and should be. Ditto the major cycleways. Expensive paving slabs that claim to generate power and data, and fans with plants on are not the future!

This is a good primer on Israel's political situation going into tomorrow's election. But I'd like to go deeper on something he only touches on, which is that part of the reason for Israel's electoral doldrums (and resulting geopolitical chaos) is its broken political system bsky.app/profile/avis...

Avishay BSG (Ben-Sasson-Gordis)@avishaybsg.bsky.social

In about 24 hours, poles will open here in Israel. In what is a strong contender for Israel’s most critical elections. The election pits Netanyahu’s extremely unpopular coalition against a non-coherent, but moderately more liberal, opposition. Here are some thoughts as we head into it.

I know getting data right on day one is tricky, but perhaps Google and even TfL could have updated their apps to divert cycle directions away from Oxford Street. Admittedly both now have to recommend cycling on streets that haven’t had their planned Cycleways delivered. Central London Grid anyone?

Of course the official map of Oxford Street is too zoomed in to show any of the - sort of - nearby cycle routes. TfL Cycleways Map: Light green - cycleway TfL Oxford Street Map: Dark green - traffic free (pedestrianised) OpenCycleMap: Blue - the old London Cycle Network Purple - cycleway

I would be upset that the clocks going back seems to mean we’ll get an extra hour of rain, but we damn well need it. Maybe an extra month or so really.

Just catching up with this story. Turning Point UK came to my neighbourhood to “protect our kids” from drag queen storytellers at the Honor Oak pub. I don’t think people appreciate how much the English far right is tied up with Ulster Loyalism, and how dangerous this is in a time of polarisation.

I think ‘progressives should trust Elon Musk’ is a bold claim. “Teslas across the country that contain the technology required for autonomy, which merely require the regulatory green light to operate in ‘full self-driving’ (FSD) mode.” FSD exists to boost Tesla’s share price, not to upgrade cars.

A deputy CISO absolutely has to know that fixing code is not the same as deploying code, and there's literally nothing happening in 18 months that is going to change that for 90% of the companies out there.

Just checked and of course, the last time there was a Commons vote on this back in 2018, Badenoch voted against the proposals to decant and get on with the restoration of the Palace of Westminster, as the cross-party joint commission had strongly recommended.

There's obviously a serious point here, but it's quite funny optics for the Conservative party to complain that it used to be so much quicker to build a stately home.

So the LibDems are talking about a big cut in fuel duty. This would mark a big growth in subsidies to motorists which would benefit the wealthy the most. They drive the most and drive the least fuel efficient cars.

This is the part many Americans -- including the Bezosites at the Washington Post -- don't understand. Canadians don't see this just as a Trump thing. It's that America elected him twice, and the second time with an even bigger mandate. The problem we're addressing is America, not Trump.
