It remains hilarious that Republicans keep insisting Trump is a master dealmaker when he's never really had any success at all at making deals as president. Not just Iran, either. He's sitting on majorities in both Houses of Congress but hasn't accomplished anything there. He's an utter failure.

I'd like to propose that we drain all of Sam Altman's blood and then offer to sell it back to him at cost.

Denny Carter@dennycarter.bsky.social

They stole the internet’s knowledge and all the work that went into it and they want to sell it back to us for a fee. What a business model.

Another reminder: if there exists *any* class of people who don't have due process rights, then *nobody* actually has due process rights because the government can always just say you're in that class.

🚨If a state is making it harder for your family to vote, why reward them with your talent and your NIL money? I said what I said. You can still make it to the NFL, NBA, or anywhere else without propping up politicians attacking democracy and voting rights.

For more than a decade, Stephen Colbert has been one of the top voices of late night—making us laugh and, even more importantly, reminding us who we are and what America stands for. Michelle and I enjoyed being Stephen’s guests—even when the games were rigged—and we’re grateful to call him a friend.

Some notes now that I’ve seen the transcript of the hearing, thanks to @lizdye.bsky.social . First: the government dismissed the felony count in an effort to convince the judge not to make them produce full transcripts, knowing they showed serious misconduct.

Mamdani has demonstrated something that Democrats have largely forgotten. You can't just do good things for voters and expect to be rewarded for it. You have to tell them about it, over and over again. You have to advertise your work in office just as much as you did on the campaign to win it.

When we took office, NYC had a $12B deficit. Today it’s zero. And we didn’t close that gap on the backs of working people. We closed it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets, & public housing. Call it Pothole Politics or Democratic Socialism: We are government that delivers for the people.
