October 27 spooky/supernatural podfic is “Wingman”. (M, 4hrs) by @shearwater-bird.bsky.social the sound design by @happydaiz.bsky.social is phenomenal and adds so much to the podfic! Although this is a WIP, the story is at a good spot and very worth a read/listen! on.soundcloud.com/pqIGVd9xtayK...

"The priority should have been patient safety - instead, trans patients will be left stranded in corridors without proper care," @jessothomson.co.uk  ICYMI 👇

The God of Bad Art gets offerings from all over the world, but in Their temple, They sometimes appear. "Why bad art?" I ask. "It is brave", the God replies. "To try and fail?" "No," the God chuckles. "Any creative work is a defiance of entropy, of Death itself. If you create, you do not fail."

These two are gonna be difficult to say goodbye to 😍😍

Now complete! Chapter 10 of Several Inches Deep in which Ed and Stede settle a number of things. With art @sailorsruin92.bsky.social! #OFMDfanfic archiveofourown.org/works/910692...

"We tend to put a rather loose term on a whole bunch of emotions, and call it love, as though nothing needs to be said after that about this rather mystical thing.” He remains a cheerleader for the film.

More often than not he believes film adaptations fail because "they try to be too loyal to the book." Ishiguro also elaborated on why the book’s central themes - which the film highlights- can be difficult to pin down or cleanly adapt:

Even though major scenes were altered from his version, he noted that they work incredibly well and had a "big effect" on him. Ishiguro has often said that he has written his version of the story in his novels, he is happy that others adapt the novel to create their own version.

In a joint interview with Waititi, Ishiguro praised the movie's climax, which has been criticised by film critics saying "I actually like the ending. Although it’s different... I find the ending quite affecting.”

Kazuo Ishiguro (石黒 一雄). A portrait I took this time last year. When asked by Vanity Fair about the film adaptation of Klara and the Sun he described his own book as “bleak.” For the film he wanted something different: He sought out Waititi’s “kind of wacky, bordering on surreal humour." 🧵 🎥 ✍️🌅

The Gentleman Pirate I presume?

It's here! The joint @ofmdkinktober.bsky.social and @ofmdwhump.bsky.social fic 🤣 archiveofourown.org/works/955195...

It's #TakeTwoTuesday AND Wicker Day with pirate pals—YAYAYAY!!! Felt like the perfect time to dust off this sketch and finish the vision 🌝 #OFMD #OFMDfanart #Wicker #InEveryUniverse

Is this the beginning of the end?

Regular reminder that when you go to things while sick, you are giving those germs to people with autoimmune disorders, you’re passing them to someone’s newborn, to someone’s elderly parents. It’s “just a cold” to you but it can and does severely impact countless people.

Justice Wargrave, And Then There Were None. (The whole setup of that book and adaptations is classic slasher, with him getting in ten kills - eleven, if you count his own - over 3ish days.)

Resharing this fic because I just re-read it, and fixed all the images. I forgot how much I loved writing this one!

Motherfuckers don't make me move all my accounts again! @proton.me this stupid shit is not what your customers are paying you for.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

So much to say about Brazil, not least of which is the role that Erika Hilton, a Black trans leader and most voted woman politician in Brazil, played in mobilizing folks for Lula. She was behind the critical, concrete, economic promise of shorter work-week. theprint.in/feature/erik...
