supreme accidental comic timing in Commons just now during PMQs: Keir Starmer: “there is only one party leader who has shown he will say anything, no matter how divisive, if he is paid to do so” Speaker (calling the next question): “Nigel Farage”

We'll deserve it if we finish third in the SPFL this season. We've been bang average throughout and the lack of quality is evident all over the park. We need a complete overhaul and rebuild, like in Martin's and Brendan's first stints. Only saving grace is that we have the funds required. #Celtic

Dame Jenni Murray was the main reason I listened to Woman's Hour regularly and avidly. After her departure, I never felt the same again about the programme and stopped listening altogether some time ago. May she rest in peace. She was a peerless broadcaster.

Watching Pete Hegseth on TV 📺 (for about the five seconds I could stomach it), I'm more than certain that he wouldn't last five minutes in a Glasgow bar without having his coupon slapped a few times for being such an ****hole. 100% certain.

I agree fully. Labelling the Greens as extremists and equating them with Reform is pathetic, embarrassing and reeks of desperation, showing a complete inability to understand the feelings of most people across the UK. We shouldn't wait till the May elections to replace a failed leadership.

Anas Sarwar has simply voiced the settled view of large swathes of Scottish Labour voters, who've already abandoned us, and of a significant number of party members all across Scotland. Our UK government, led by Keir, has robbed us of the chance to be in government at Holyrood come May.

Gianni Infantino, the FIFA supremo, encapsulates and exemplifies almost everything that's wrong with the people's game, football ⚽️. So very far away from ordinary supporters across the world 🌎. Tonight, however, he could lower still his standards of behaviour. Let's see 👀

Alf Dubs is a 92 year old man who spent his life fighting for refugees, and in particular for refugee children. He fought the Tories tooth and nail during their last three terms, only to see Labour adopt far-right policies on immigration. “But to use children as a weapon ... I’m lost for words.”

Plans to leave refugees in a state of perpetual uncertainty about where and if they can rebuild their lives are not just performative cruelty, they are counterproductive to integration and the economy. It doesn’t have to be like this - 1/2

Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms. He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Ah the 1970s. Stagflation, three day weeks, collapsing infrastructure. Civil War in Northern Ireland. In yer face racism and bigotry everywhere. Bin strikes. Strikes in general. Blackouts. Industrial decline. Wage inequality. Dog crap everywhere. And households spent 25% of their income on food.

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

In a final letter to San Francisco, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, who made history as the nation’s first female speaker of the House and twice served in that top job, says she will not seek re-election in 2026.

Kasper Schmeichel is way past his sell-by date and his mistakes are dragging the whole team down. Naturally, Rodgers will stick by him and the odd good save here and there will keep him from being dropped. We knew we needed a decent keeper back in May. #Celtic #Braga

Ekechi Iheanacho has evidently lost his way over the past couple of seasons but he's still young and his profile - strong, fast and uncompromising - is what our attack needs. He has significant EPL experience and that's no joke. I, for one, hope he proves himself and makes a positive contribution.

Celtic have confirmed the signing of Kelechi Iheanacho.

Absolutely rotten Celtic performance tonight against Kairat Almaty. We don't deserve anything from this game and the tie overall. A mediocre side of committed and hard working players stopped us from scoring. And terrible Idah first penalty kills us. 😡

I'm no big fan of Gavin Newsom's but my goodness I'm enjoying myself silly 😜 following up on his trolling of the orange turd. As a sociopathic narcissist, he must be going crazy seeing himself mocked so effectively by the Governor of California. Chapeau! 👌😎

I really object to those Labour MPs who are opposing cuts to disability benefits being tagged as 'rebels'. They are not rebelling against the government but rather simply representing the widely held views of party members and voters. Bravo!

I swear every time I see a push notification from BBC news it’s some version of: ‘Reform may have lost an election/suffered a massive blow/erupted into civil war…but here is why its actually good news for Farage’s party’

Well done PSG on winning the Champions League 🏆 with an astonishing victory over an overwhelmed Inter Milan. That genius of a manager, Luis Enrique, wins his second elite level treble. 🏆 🏆 🏆 #ChampionsLeague #LuisEnrique
