🚨One Nation has been selling stickers attacking Indigenous Senator Lidia Thorpe, including depicting her as disheveled on all fours, yelling “you stole my land”. Yet Hanson's excuse for not removing Thorpe violence cartoons was they ran "years ago"... theklaxon.com.au/pdjh

Like so many of us, freaked out that bad actors using AI might steal our Super savings. Time to hit the mattresses (stuffed with cash)? Ironic that most future jobs in IT will be in shoring up defences to protect us from AI. Like the legendary Ouroboros... the snake that eats itself.

We keep telling the government - we don't want automated robo-debt, or data centres everywhere, or aged-care assessment by algorithm, or non-professional NDIS decisions. Employ real people. Pay real wages. Fix hospitals & schools. Tax the squillionaires & giant companies. Can't be any clearer.

Penny Allman-Payne@pennyallmanpayne.com

Older people have been saying this for months. Labor's automation of aged care assessments has been a disaster, under-assessing need and priority, denying care and driving up waitlists. It's past time to bin the whole thing and put humans back in charge of decision-making.

When public servants give evidence in a public hearing, about jobs that the public pays them to do, their answers should be direct, unambiguous, and detailed. That is the contract between the public and government. Any suggestion otherwise goes against that agreement.

So who is interested in their superannuation being used for investing in AI that could possibly destroy humanity? Seems to be in perfect opposition to the entire purpose of superannuation... And ought we listen to the makers of AI re caution? AI uses human's data but who benefits? #AusPol

Our country stands at a critical crossroads. Change must occur - but what kind of change? And crucially, for who? I'm presenting our alternative vision for this country at the National Press Club this Wednesday, 12:30pm AEDT. Tune in live on ABC TV & iView.

Not to be missed . You can guarantee MSM won’t give it a glowing endorsement as an alternative party like ‘other’ Trumpian parties.

Rigorous debate is ok. But words matter. If your words of ‘rigorous debate’ include thinly veiled violence, personal attacks and humiliation, then it’s no longer vigorous debate. You are just contributing to a culture of violence and hate.

Bolsonaro's loss is not just a loss for Bolsonaro. It's a loss for Trump. For Musk. For Milei. For Netanyahu. For Farage. For Meta and Zuckerberg. For the meat barons, the fossil fuel corporations, and the rest of the neocolonial looters. And it is a massive win for humanity and the living planet.

We’re all wishing Helen Haines a speedy recovery. She is warm, committed, smart, respectful and one of the most effective champions of integrity in public life. She has already changed Parliament for the better more than anyone else.

The Golden Whistlers on Lord Howe Island are more often heard than seen — but sometimes briefly show their beaky faces. The males (little show-offs 😍) have especially bright plumage:

If we want change, we must vote for change. @davidpocock.bsky.social is the perfect example of how effective a politician can be. Because he isn’t influenced by vested interests. David works for his electorate & Australians first and foremost. Community Independents are the change we need.

The ruddy turnstones that I saw at Port Neill would have recently returned from the Arctic Circle. They normally breed north of 60 degrees latitude, making them one of the most northerly breeding shorebirds. These birds still displayed some breeding plumage, which they will lose. #birdsseenin2026

You know another thing that could help 'turn the temperature down' Mr Albanese? Raise the rate of unemployment benefits so that some people are less desperate to survive, and feel slightly less hopeless and angry at least #auspol

Snowy Hydro project estimated cost now $24 billion, only 12 times what the Coalition government said it'd be when they announced it. They should've stuck to not building commuter car parks and shoveling money to corrupt politicians in Nauru, things they were good at.
