Berea College already covered tuition. Now it plans to cover fees, room, board, books, and supplies too. The challenge? Making “totally free college” clear to families and sustainable for the institution. https://chroni.cl/4jpCnAv

The demagoguery doesn't work as well when people are paying high gas prices. The GOP is in bad shape ahead of the midterms. This is going to be a time of desperate Trumpian shenanigans because, as y'all may recall, they don't believe in fair fights and never admit to losing anything.

If you’ve ever read The Deportation Machine by Adam Goodman, you know how this went last time we did this
Whoa. @haleaziz.bsky.social has the scoop on a truly insane plan to use some military training ships for deportations, with people presumably shackled or locked in cells for days at a time as they transit to Central and South America. Each journey would be staggeringly expensive — and dangerous.

The rush to accuse, without anything approaching due diligence, artists of using "AI," should be treated with contempt. An artist gets their work *ripped off* to train a plagiarism machine, which then shits out inferior versions of that work, so then you accuse the artist of using "AI"? Fuck you.
Wow. LOISH got accused of using Ai to make her art. I started following her on early deviantart. I remember first seeing her paintings in college. This is ridiculous, no one is safe. Artists Ive followed for actual decades are getting harassed because their work has been stolen and regurgitated.

Ok I’m through — talked to TSA agent she said it’s this week and they’re “randomly” choosing flights. I asked if it’s just to New York and she said it’s to everywhere. Then I was randomly selected for the baggage check (lol) and my guy went through every zipper, including my wallet 🤷♀️

Again, this is what Tucker says to normal audiences. To his own audience, literally today, he went on a deranged rant about, among other things, how Oswald Mosley wasn’t a Nazi.
On NPR’s Newsmakers, Tucker Carlson says Trump should be removed from office, and also speaks with regret about his own long career as a TV partisan. youtu.be/pHhJM3Fg9jw?...

Doordash have always been our enemies.
DoorDash seems to not care that ICE agents are shooting their workers while they on the job. Community members are the ones who have gotten Wilber medical attention in detention and legal support — without a single shred of help from this multibillion dollar corporation profiting off his labor.

my favorite bit in this episode is Riker is about to beam down to bust Soren out of conversion therapy and Worf shows up and is just like "please let me assist you in breaking your trans girlfriend out of prison where they are forcing society's rigid (lack of) gender roles on her"
