Current status: thinking about artificial intelligence as "value heterotrophs" to human embodied experience. Kinda like how animals are heterotrophs for the energy fixed by plants in photosynthesis. So metaphorically, #deliberation is like the electron transport chain process :)

Dancing very very VERY close to saying “OpenAI stole our almost-complete proof of Navier-Stokes from internal access to our ChatGPT sessions because they were desperate to scoop Anthropic” which is absolutely 100% a believable thing OpenAI would do right now cims.nyu.edu/~tristanb/st...

Replying to @bmann.ca

There are a few other individuals you can pay as consultants, but not really very publicly yet? @hypha.coop & @limeleaf.coop are a Canadian and US based consultancies who you can pay to work on atproto (and both are worker owned co-ops!)

Holy fuck, America. This attack is grotesque on so many levels... It's not just vulgar attack, but also takes the conservative electorate to be so basic and easily baited... I truly hope it doesn't land

Stephen Miller: "It's very bold that Democrats would choose Texas to nominate their first transgender Senate candidate who's transitioning into a female. When Talarico goes in for a blood test, blood doesn't come out, instead soy milk comes out. This man has less testosterone than Jasmine Crockett."

With all respect & love to my spectrum-y friends: for all the ways the world's been weird while transforming under the partial-seeing eye of coders... AI is now empowering the intuitive class & the world is about to get weirder. There's perhaps an autist-to-artist handoff afoot

Been trying to think of the most basic version of what I'm motivated by right now... 🤔 maybe... Responsible Technology for the Telling of Loud Stories™️ Weirder variant: responsible digital technology for the networked deployment of simple social technology :)

Current status: thinking about beehives & culture. Bees forage for sugar, storing it in static structural wax comb of the hive, to power future work. Humans forage for information & store it where? What is our hive? Our wax? Our honey? What's culture? Books? Language itself?

Current status: thinking about livestream participation interfaces that allow pausing, like lagging intentionally behind to comment (or just to think!). Or maybe just to quietly take a picture of the family from behind, to see the moment more clearly later. (Thanks mom ❤️)

But then, like we can do when lagging in space, perhaps we can have time elastically recoil to bring us back to the front row, back to the hiking troupe, back to the perpetually cresting wave of the present reactive moment, that can somehow hold us all.

Thanks to @hexafield.bsky.social and @michaelgarfield.bsky.social's mapmakers discord for giving this thought a chance to be articulated aloud :) The homology of linear narrative and linear peptides is a deep interest for me...! bsky.app/profile/patc...

Been rolling around the idea of an essay for a few years. Here's the provocation: What practical lessons (in culture-building, institution-building, community) can we draw from interpreting biological protein synthesis as a primordial, lower dimensional form of #storytelling? #complexity #democracy

‪> Maybe there's something about how consecutive parts of a linear narrative divide people and/or bring them into alignment, which is part of a narrative when doing pro-life work (assembly/destruction of living structure in the right ways, in a Christopher Alexander sense)‬

Even the presentation I was about to give them -- they saw what I used to generate it ("I am speaking to attendees of a civic hacknight civictech.ca [...]") & they can judge the output. So they would leave the circle learning THAT even if the presentation was bad.

It's so disgusting that I can almost hear the countless hours this man has been talking to a sycophantic ChatGPT... thanks OpenAI

Holy shit, I want this to be my new "about me" link: mino.mobi/novelty/?han... I sure as heck don't mind being benchmarked by such a cheap metric...! I think I actually appreciate novelty as a core value, so this is neat for something I value so much to be so easy to calculate :)

If anyone is friends with any Georgian air traffic controllers, buy them a nice bottle of wine. As guardians of pretty much the only narrow gap still available between Europe and Asia that avoids both Iran, the Gulf, Ukraine and Russia, they are under some substantial pressure.

I think i figured out whats wrong with me! socially I'm a herd animal, but my executive function is cat-like. As in, self-management is mostly creating conditions in which I feel like my dear humans don't need things from me, at which point my executive brain starts figure-eighting their legs
