What was I doing 25 years ago? Working from London at Sun Microsystems, and packing my bags to fly out the next day to meet the rest of the Java Servlets team in California… Needless to say, that trip got cancelled…
Today’s Typescript 7 daily release finally includes my contribution to support “emit” via API! Right before the weekend, so I can waste it playing around with it 😛 Thanks @andrewbran.ch tor including it! npmx.dev/package-code...
My PR to add "emit" support via the @typescriptlang.org 7 API is slowly being reviewed (thanks to @jakebailey.dev). If / when that gets merged in, we'll be able to type check, transpile, and emit transpiled files directly using the API. Can't bloody wait! github.com/microsoft/ty...
“Lost luggage in Tokyo”… I’ll believe it when I see it. (Ok, the Forbes article is about Osaka, but as I passed through Narita/Haneda several times a year, for the past 20 years, I bet it is not far off) www.forbes.com/sites/alexle...
Future holiday horror: ‘A robot lost my luggage in Tokyo’

On a lazy Sunday night, I decided to write my first PR to @typescriptlang.org... Call emit and generate .d.ts / .js output using the brand spanking new TSGO API...
As always @bcantrill.bsky.social ‘s eloquence is second to none… “…it should be of little surprise that LLMs have served as anabolic steroids for the brogrammer” 🤣

The HTTP QUERY method has been in the works for over five years, and “just” published yet another draft… I’ve been eagerly awaiting for it since the first draft because I’m tired of stringifying JSON in a `query` search parameter on GETs… Will this ever see the light of the day, @jasnell.me 😂?

The luck of running a small engineering team is that features hits production only when I personally feel I understand the code well enough to be able to fix it myself, alone, at 3AM. Does it scale? Nope, but that’s why I don’t like working for larger organizations…

At 51 I don't see myself as "visually impaired" but simply fucking old, and Liquid Design is, for all intended purposes, a catastrophe! So, to be honest, I'm pretty happy that Dye got the boot, and that Lemay is in charge. Can't wait for 27!

Started up a little new project and (why not - it's pre-prod) I decided to give @vite.dev 8 (and @voidzero.dev's Rolldown) a spin... DAMN THAT'S FAST! Can't wait for a final release so I can justify pushing it everywhere at work...
