I decided to start learning digital art, it's been years since I've tried making art outside of the fabrication and tinkering that I'm comfortable with, but I feel like I need to grow again and hopefully make new genuine connections. I think I'm also going to try to be more open about my life.

The era of vibes is over. No more vibes. We make memories with intention now. No more smearing a whole aesthetic into an easily marketable "mood". It really is that deep. It always has been.

Trying to get back into MTB toward at the end of the season, no riding buddies, mid trails in SEish Iowa. I really need WTB or someone to make a tire like this again. It's unobtainium now, so I'm probably going to swap it for another tire so I don't fully wear it out. We NEED pawprint tires again!

I'm really tired of waiting for the "so what's your fursona?" question followed by a bunch of shitty AI/stolen images and "I can help you draw and illustrate your fursona based on your idea and description" with each new online interaction. Fuck all the way off. Meme is free to use.

FA is the only anti-ai, ACTUAL functional gallery site left on the internet not ruined by algorythmic bs, support if you can

I might have to briefly learn how to craft hats, like as a sidequest. Also, I think this is pretty substantial evidence that the "Man in the Yellow Hat" is some sort of magic practitioner. Why else would he have a monkey familiar? Curious.

Huh, I just learned that the phrase "mad as a hatter" comes from the fact that beaver pelts used to make hats used to be treated with a chemical solution that included mercury, and the workers were called hatters. Eventually, these workers would develop dementia. Neat.

I've been frustrated with the isolation that comes from living in the middle of nowhere and after the past few years of change and moving around I've become very closed off. I want to change that and hopefully make cool artist friends as I learn.

These are a few pictures of my attic lair in the beautiful but somewhat dilapidated craftsman house I live in now. I set up a "clean room" for my 3D printers so I can control temp and contain/vent the toxic air. I also set up an area for my workspace and bed so my A/C doesn't have to work as hard.

Making genuine connection is hard and exhausting these days. I'm so tired of having to be suspicious of AI/commission scammers in my DMs. It makes me not want to try anymore. I end up stuck bouncing between being super jaded and lonely enough that I keep trying. I don't trust anymore, but I want to.
