Sure seems like ICE had three deaths in 24 hours, knew how bad it would look, and are trying to draw it out so people won’t notice.

i am inviting anyone from a legacy media organization to explain to me why the house judiciary dems report on trump’s epstein’s ties and multiple allegations of rape isn’t worthy of extensively reporting on. i’m serious. i want to understand.

Criminal slumlord Jared Kushner’s phone being hacked revealed more proof of what I’ve been saying for years, he’s incredibly corrupt, compromised and insidiously evil. He’s everything fascist republicans falsely accused Hunter Biden of being times a trillion. He needs to be jailed for treason.

Congrats to Lula on overcoming Mark Zuckerberg and Donald Trump to defeat Hospital Pervert Jr., even as his opposition literally blocked off roads and turned off bus service during election day. Fascists are scary but they are always, 100% of the time, ultimately gigantic fucking losers.

Right now, as we speak, Donald Trump is festooning DC with the Golden Horses that stand outside of P.F. Chang’s. These horses were originally BRONZE.

Fuck this. There is room to vote for some people who have made missteps on trans issues because our entire Democracy is at stake and many of them are MUCH better on those issues than the alternative. But this guy? He knows what discrimination feels like so he knows exactly how monstrous this is.

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

Elon Musk has now issued his fourth explanation for his actions in throttling StarLink and StarShield. Note that each of his explanations is inconsistent with its predecessor. And this one focuses on Ukraine supposedly violating its terms of service. If it did, that's an easily ascertainable fact.

Incredible if predictable betrayal of public trust: you have industry lobbyists become appointees, exploit unitary executive theory to undermine environmental laws and ride roughshod over staff.

Musk spent hundreds of millions in 2024 to elect Trump and a Republican Congress, he committed crimes—such as an illegal million dollar prize for voter fraud registration—then got billions worth of contracts from the very government he helped put in power. And that doesn’t count stock increases.

The funds have already been approved by Congress. Our service members and their family members suffering from toxic exposure IN THEIR HOMES shouldn’t have to wait on incompetent leadership or the results of an election to receive a remedy.

As many have posted, this view is morally monstrous. But it also is incredibly stupid because it misunderstands several things: what polls show, how we can interpret them, what politics is for, and how political change works. In other words, this standpoint is astonishingly stupid.

The clip that I quoted in the OP is the essence of basically all DC Democratic thinking: Never, ever do anything unless you can cite a poll saying that it would be popular. It doesn't matter how evil or how illegal, you should say or do nothing.
