I need to do some advocacy for people with permanent dark circles under their eyes. We are not all: - silent film villains - on heroin (necessarily) - about to zombify

From my 2022 Monster Mashtober run: The Four Horsewomen. I've drawn them a few times now and I keep wanting to make a full color version of these, but alas life keeps getting away from me

I may have mentioned it, but that line read where Delgo's dad says "Here comes a HIGH one!" during the prologue is what we'd yell at each other when somebody came back from lunch obviously baked.

You can get soooo much more headphone for your money now. I think about the trash I was listening with in highschool in the 90's and am disgusted all over again. You can get $40 wired cans that will pop your damn skull like popcorn.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

"Delgo" was Anne Bancroft's last role

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

Another older Halloween comic. I lost the old file so I recently had to redraw it, and I had a lot of fun revisiting this.

sometimes you see a software feature and know that it was the must-implement request of an executive, like for example the fact that my Canon scanner plays a little MIDI song for the duration of every scan BY DEFAULT yes boss great idea sir you're right this will definitely increase brand loyalty

the temptation to change the .MID file to some nightmarish black-MIDI track definitely exists, although I would certainly forget I did it by tomorrow and then probably have a heart attack the next time I scanned something

These would've been taken on a Nikon CoolPix 995 with all of 3.4 megapixels that I paid a fucking thousand dollars for. You could twist the body 180 degrees so an ideal selfie cam. Felt like a real pro with my 64 megabyte compact flash cards.

In my early 20's I was dating an Evil Hooters Waitress who was extremely into policing my masculinity, especially when I tried to dress fashionably or talked about art while we were out together. After I broke it off I found out her last BF came out after they broke up and it all clicked.

Not (strictly) hiring but: I was exposed to some gender/dating nonsense earlier this week when a local celebrity asked about her followers' dating icks and one of the top comments was "drives with both hands on the wheel"

P.S. it has always been darkly funny to me that a closeted gay kid in Mormon Utah was like "I need to look *unimpeachably* hetero" and really nailed every move by picking a buxom AXO sorority girl who worked at Hooters named Stacie. No notes, homie. You got us to a fault.

The bit in Panzer Dragoon Saga where *spoilers for obscure mid-90's game* the bad guy razes the town you've spent the past several hours growing attached to and calling home, incinerating everyone you met there in an instant.

the USA isn't just a place, it's also an idea. an idea that is fucking chunking it big time

Today I'd like to introduce Oh Shit We Cookin' Theory, which states that an AI, by itself, cannot attain creative greatness because it can't -- in the throes of creative labor -- feel the distinctly simian emotion of "Oh shit, we cookin'!"

Maybe I missed it, but I haven't really seen anybody clearly spelling out what the end game of the recent "AI safety" scare most likely entails: They want it to be illegal to run models of a certain capability level without a license. Maybe they realized they can't afford to buy every
