On this Memorial Day, I remember my great uncle Herbert Louis Reynerson. Staff Sergeant in Company B, 320th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division. KIA on March 9, 1945. Awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart posthumously. Buried at the U.S. Military Cemetery in Margraten, Netherlands.

A man climbed onto the imperial throne at St. Petersburg's Hermitage Museum and read a petition to Putin before drawing a knife on staff. The 46-year-old raved about corruption, debt, and financial ruin. He was detained and handed to police. www.fontanka.ru/2026/05/17/7...

Vance: " If you're worried about the world spinning out of control, if you're worried about a military draft, if you're worried about, God forbid, a world war, the best way to prevent it is to vote for Donald Trump."

What's occurring at IU's Jewish Studies is a shanda! The chancellor and the interim director are trying to "save" the program by ripping it apart through deceit and by disregarding academic freedom & integrity. (The story doesn't capture everything.) This is happening not just in Jewish Studies.

jta.orgIn Indiana, a vaunted Jewish studies program is upended by red-state politics over Israel and speech - Jewish Telegraphic AgencyA leadership shakeup, a defunded graduate student and political pressure from above have turned a storied program into a flashpoint for Trump-era campus politics.

Rep. Joe Neguse and all sorts of other good people will be on KFFR Radio today at 4:30pm (Mountain Time) to discuss the East Troublesome Fire. Tune in and listen! kffr.org

When you represent a district larger than 8 states, you understand the importance of showing up in EVERY single community. Excited to traverse Colorado’s 2nd district today — with visits to 3 counties, 5 cities, a town-hall (our 17th this year!) & a whole lot of coffee ☕️ Stay tuned! ⬇️⬇️⬇️

It's hard to avoid recalling this passage from the English historian Tony Judt:

Most incredible about this is that IU-Bloomington has long been the no. 1 university in the world for teaching Asian languages and cultures, with many programs found nowhere else. They're slashing many of IU-B's most distinctive programs with zero thought or debate. They probably don't even know.

"The story of Diego and Emily is the story of the excesses and reach of Trump’s immigration regime. But it’s also a story of love itself—the ways in which one finds it and it finds you and how it can bind people together in trying circumstances."

Robert Prevost's—now Pope Leo XIV—assessment of the ideal sermon: “He’d say that a homily should be short and to the point, like a miniskirt,” said Elsa Ocampo, 81, a volunteer at the Our Lady of Montserrat church in Trujillo.

Scenes are repeating across the United States, passersby and local residents confront & resist Trump's ICE regime troops as they’re spotted kidnapping their neighbours. The regime continues its campaign of ethnic cleansing, appearing at homes and businesses masked and without warrants. #3E #StopICE
