Dawkins has been a cruel, bigoted fool for a long time now. Whether his target was Muslims, women, or trans folks, his ugliness is not new. I’m glad some orgs like the American Humanist Association have rescinded the honors they gave him, but he never deserved them to begin with

The idea that something is now a nonnegotiable because it is widely used is absurd. I am 45. Do you have any idea how much and how often the consumer landscape has changed over the course of my life? Demand, rules, infrastructure—all of these things change.

Zionism was created by a man who died long before the holocaust. Zionism was boosted by the British to create a 'Jewish Ulster' in Palestine. Some of the founding Zionists viewed Holocaust victims and survivors as weaklings, and survivors were one of the poorest groups in Israel for decades

I try not and comment on that demented dipshit anymore because giving him any attention is what narcissists want, but how would Iran nuking San Diego or LA be a small price to pay for gas prices that are high due to a war that…checks notes…is to keep Iran from having said nukes? Not a lick of sense.

An issue I find tremendously uncouth is the mentality Hasan is promoting around El-Sayed working with Kamala, where people who object to that specific alliance are dismissed as “spoilers,” and the entire discussion gets reduced to “DO YOU WANNA WIN OR NOT?” Like, I'm sorry?

Actress Susan Sarandon being arrested earlier today for protesting Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations. One is speaking out against genocide, one is committing it. One was arrested, one was not.

The apoplectic rage I feel when I am entering a password and the red text pops up underneath saying 'incorrect password' before I have even finished... like babe, wait, calm down and give me a bloody moment of peace lord help me!

I remember reading a book where the popular kids weren’t mean to a neurodivergent kid and I felt a psychosomatic shock.

Perhaps some of you were bullied by the 'hot cool rich girls' or equivalent at school, but from my own experience it felt completely different. The worst bully at my school wasn't necessarily popular, he was just insecure but incredibly driven and persistent. 2/

I was bigger than my bully. I had more friends. He hit puberty later than the other boys and was picked on for that. He was actually more 'gay' than me, picked on for that too. So it wasn't obvious. I never see bullying in films and TV that reflects this. 8/

The scariest most upsetting thing about being bullied for me was always the thought 'why does this weird kid hate ME, why ME?'. It was like me and a few others generated an invisible signal only he could detect. 7/

I'm sure there are as many bullies as there are victims, also I'm a boy and bullying can be very gendered, but I've witnessed this 'damaged lock picker' approach as a teacher as well, and far more than 'bitchy cheerleader squad'. 6/

I get frustrated seeing the 'mean girls' approach to bullying iterated over and over. I'm sure it's real to some, but my bully was like a tick or a tapeworm, he'd just sort of latch onto you one day and drain you. Not from a place of privilege, but from a desire to see you humiliated. 5/

The target (on occasion me but not solely) would finally break/snap/cry/react and then that's when the rest of the class would join in. Blood was in the water. But nobody liked him, they just went with it because... sadly humiliation is social poison. 4/

This boy, who clearly had many issues, would just push and push till he found your weak spot, almost like a lock picker cracking a safe. And he'd do it quietly, so only the victim heard, not backed up by cronies. 3/

Just watched the trailer to the new Carrie adaptation and (having not seen the series yet) I have some thoughts about media's inability to depict bullying in a believable or nuanced way. 1/
