1. Not sure when a new, on-the-record rape allegation against a sitting president isn’t considered news — especially considering Trump was found liable by a jury in a similar case — but it was ignored by most mainstream media outlets

RFK Jr. is such a piece of shit. Fuck you, you fucking ghoul lying fuck. DIAF.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

Took a planned day off work today. Ended up spending work tokens on my LLM toolset I've been organically building there since April. Pretty stoked about what I was able move from CLI and filesystem to my web UI and have a sort of feedback loop (not a real loop). Inspired by:

Screenshots of the web UI related to this. I run my agent sessions from this toolset's repo which may run under a worktree and can checkout sub-repos where real work happens. I usually have it ingest and model systems before working on a related ticket. Had to add some anonymizing functionality.

I call it DUMBO - Domain Utility for Managed Business Objects. Lots of metaphors at play here with dumbo+elephants. When you work for an old org you might have a lot of undocumented code spread across repos and teams. This helps me make core changes while understanding downstream dependencies.

Mr. West, you have that Nazi fascist Musk on you. Desperation is a stinky "cologne".

Pretty grim footnote to West's career that he ended up serving the richest man in the world's successful attempt to restore white nationalism to the US government.

My reporting is Exhibit A again tonight.

Gillian Brockell@gillianbrockell.com

MAJOR UPDATE: Shortly after this published, I obtained another document confirming this will be a removal flight only. If carried out, it would be the largest third-country removal to Africa so far: 25 people to Eq. Guinea, 30 to Burundi + 100 to Central African Rep. prospect.org/2026/10/21/i...

With this week's pile of security incidents and patches, I'm *really* happy that I started back up on this a month ago. Now I can point agents at CVEs and have it review in relation to my infrastructure. And now I'm looking especially forward to this Friday & Saturday @bsidespdx.bsky.social event!

IAMX@prey.net

I'm revisiting some Ansible work (w/ Claude) that I was doing maybe a year ago for my homelab env. Reorganizing it, backfilling playbooks for creating some of my already existing resources (previously setup by hand). Exploring setting things up in such the way I've been thinking about for awhile.

Meanwhile, wondering how rocky things are going to get from this time forward.

Interesting security details (and better practice reminders). Even if you don't host a node.

"In either scenario the problem is that Zuck has too much power, and the answer should be to make sure Zuck has less power by moving to systems no single billionaire, no single politician, no single entity anywhere can control." Interesting note re: "Claude" (tool) activity, too.

"Lindsey Graham and James Clyburn Did Bribery the Right Way," by Ezra Klein

ProPublica@propublica.org

We’re back with our second story about how Trump’s purge of the FBI killed a sweeping bribery probe in D.C. This time, we take you to South Carolina, where two powerful politicians escaped scrutiny: Sen. Lindsey Graham and Rep. James Clyburn. THREAD 👇

""" He courted politicians using something he called “the method,” as ProPublica detailed in September. Navatek would open an office in the state or district of a powerful member of Congress and partner with a local university to concoct a proposal for federally funded research. Then, """

""" Navatek — through executives, family members and lobbyists — would make generous campaign donations. In exchange, the member would add detailed language to the defense budget to fund the company’s work. """

""" That legislative language would not name the company. But it would describe specific work that Navatek was already planning to do behind the scenes, making it the only logical choice for the eventual government contract. """ I'm looking forward to the onslaught of investigations COMING SOON.

There's a real effort from a class of very aloof, sensible economists to undermine the emerging antitrust movement. They fell over themselves to dismiss "greedflation," a theory that keeps finding validation, as hysterical populism. Egg on their faces, I guess. www.politico.com/news/magazin...

"It also collects bids that egg producers make for each other’s surplus inventory on an exchange called Egg Clearinghouse, Inc. Urner Barry takes in those bids even before they lead to any sale, as a signal of demand."

"The data it then publishes, broken down by regions of the country, sets suppliers’ big contracts with Walmart and other large retailers, ultimately trickling down to what you’re seeing at your local store."

“Do you think that Trump is attempting to overthrow democracy?” I asked. “Because I do, and think it’s obvious that he is. And I think that the fact that mainstream media won't say it makes it more likely that it’s going to happen.”

Goldfinch birds love this seed mix, but it comes with peanuts that otherwise get stuck in the feeder so I separate them. There's a pretty clear difference between the peanuts that came from the previous bag two months ago vs the bag I picked up over the weekend. Is this a sign of the economy?
