Well, I called my Republican MC's DC office today and was only told "Have a good day, ma'am" after I spoke. So...I guess like that.

Maxwell Frost@maxwellfrost.bsky.social

I'm not sure how you can be against removing this man from office right now. What will it take? A nuke being dropped? It's too late then. The purpose of impeachment and the 25th Amendment is to prevent that type of thing from happening, not just to react to it.

I don't know what to do with the fact that Bill Kristol is a better Democrat than the entirety of Democratic leadership in Congress and the DNC. Truly the upside down.

Bill Kristol@billkristolbulwark.bsky.social

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

Introduce yourself with what almost killed you. Hi, I’m the thyroid your immune system accidentally attacked after a simple upper respiratory infection. I flooded you with an obscene amount of thyroid hormone and almost put you into thyroid storm 😬

Introduce yourself with what almost killed you. Hi, I'm the toxoplasmosis which had my fever up to 104.3 overnight before I woke up hallucinating but somehow managed to swallow some ibuprofen.

Social science takes time. Here, social scientists analyze a decade of evidence to show that a Supreme Court decision designed to suppress the black vote actually did. SCOTUS may soon obliterate the rest of the Voting Rights Act and we should not be shy about calling out what's going on here.

Very proud of my colleague and friend. Everybody get on this book!

I'm thrilled to announce my book with Chris Hallenbrook (@challenbrook.bsky.social) is out now. In the work, we develop a social contract theory of intergenerational justice. We then apply our ideas to topics including climate change, public debt, artificial intelligence, and more. tidd.ly/3LfKAbq

What has happened to this man? Truly, it’s mindboggling what he has become. Or maybe what he always was but hid better?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

FOX: Do you think Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize? FETTERMAN: If this sticks. I think the whole point of having a Nobel Peace Prize is for ending wars and promoting peace. And if he brings the Ukrainian war to its end, I will be the Democrat leading the committee for his Nobel Prize Peace.

Given that my GOP member hasn’t held an actual town hall since 2017, I bet any number of them are just going to Homer Simpson it back into the bushes.

Kevin M. Kruse@kevinmkruse.bsky.social

In a brilliant tactical move, Speaker Mike Johnson is announcing that the weasels who make up the Republican caucus will be spending the upcoming week in their districts where I'm sure they'll be very happy to hear from constituents about the government shutdown Republicans caused.

Every university in the country is holding its breath until September, when the final enrollment numbers will be clear. Then the layoffs will begin.

Steve Herman@w7voa.journa.host.ap.brid.gy

The US could see a 30-40% decline in new international student enrollment, resulting in nearly $7 billion in lost revenue and more than 60,000 fewer American jobs. https://www.nafsa.org/fall-2025-international-student-enrollment-outlook-and-economic-impact

COLBERT: You warned everyone…he would prosecute political enemies, cut Medicaid, alienate our allies, give tax cuts to the rich. I know you're not here to say 'I told you so' but would you like to? HARRIS: You're correct. I did predict a lot of that. But what I did not predict was the capitulation.

Most reporting is just not up to the task of registering both that 1) the White House is *attacking* universities *as institutions* 2) the White House is working *with* universities’ boards to achieve *common goals* for remaking and weakening those institutions

I just cannot imagine how this man treated his players of color. I truly cannot fathom the racism he must have displayed.

“[These] inner-city rats, they live off the federal government. And that’s one reason we’re $37 trillion in debt. And it’s time we find these rats and we send them back home, that are living off the American taxpayers, that are working very hard every week to pay taxes.” www.al.com/politics/202...

I am so done with legacy media. What abjectly stupid decisions these people are making.

Eric Lipton NYT@ericlipton.nytimes.com

Corruption requires explict quid pro quo. It is not corrupt to take an action that aligns with the interest of a person who gives you a gift, unless the official action was in direct response to that gift--a bribe. Terms matter. Accuracy and fairness matters. Regardless of what social media wants.

I am over legacy media refusing to call a spade a spade. No legitimate scholar is saying anything this weak. Just ask the professors at @strictscrutiny.bsky.social

The New York Times@nytimes.com

News Analysis: President Trump has refused to return a deported migrant. Scholars say he’s now flirting with a lawless defiance of court orders, a path with an uncertain end.

It’s truly incredible how mainstream legacy media outlets like @nbcnews.com and @msnbc.com have failed us. I’m teaching media framing in intro to American government this week, so thanks for the real-time example 🙃

Schumer helped convince Biden that his time was up and to step back with dignity for the sake of the party and nation. He should follow his own advice. It's not about age. Schumer had a solid run. He's just the wrong guy for this particular challenge, which the Democrats & US can't afford to lose.

No, the meeting did not go badly for Ukraine. It exposed in the most undeniable, unequivocal way possible the pro-Putin commitments of the president and vice president. That was information Americans and allies needed to have clear before them.

YES, REPRESENTATIVE FROST!!! THIS IS THE VIBE.

Maxwell Frost@maxwellfrost.bsky.social

Zero Democratic votes for the Republican budget made to cut programs like Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and food stamps to pay for billionaire tax cuts. Reject being the minority, embrace being the opposition!

How the rise of fascism brings together strange bedfellows. She’s 💯 correct. I hate it 🙃

JD Vance - If you believe any of the multiple federal courts that have ruled against you so far are exceeding their statutory or Constitutional authority, your recourse is to appeal. You don’t get to rage-quit the Republic just because you are losing. That’s tyranny.

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.
