Of course, the corruption, the lying, the incompetence - all unprecedented and remarkable, but I have to say, "unable to maintain a cordial diplomatic relationship with #Canada," is like... It's not enough to be stupid, it's like bankrupting a casino - you have to be ACTIVELY, aggressively stupid.

I do not waste time wondering why Trump says stupid racist shit - he is a racist and is stupid, that's why. What I wonder about is why people still support him.

Imagine nuclear energy was discovered in 1935 by private researchers. They develop low-cost energy production, but they're moving fast and don't understand all the applications yet. Nevertheless everyone can see we're on the cusp of a huge step forward.

A bit later, they come forward, grey-faced, wanting to discuss something very important, wanting to loop in government and looking for some "guardrails".

As if, for some reason, they're concerned about something so serious, it can't be entrusted solely to people whose only allegiance is shareholder value.

I said it at the time (and before!), but I truly believe that American voters electing Donald Trump for a second term in 2024 was the dumbest and most self-harming choice made by an electorate in the history of humanity

1. This New York Post cover: “Thousands of 9/11 families demand Mamdani be banned from 25th-Anniversary” is a brazen lie. How do I know? I interviewed the organizer of the petition.

A corporation that finds itself in a situation where it needs to lay off 10% of its workforce all at once has a critical leadership problem and it's crazy we accept any other explanation.

Kind of weird that the president is a rapist, and a court reaffirmed it, and everyone knows it, and we're all just going about our days like normal.

If you're a US politician, let's just take it as a given that you'll condemn the other guy's gerrymandering and defend your own. Unless you can answer the question, "would you support a constitutional amendment to ban partisan AND racist gerrymandering," then you don't have anything to add.

The Roberts court's failures will be woven into the fabric of the nation's history and it'll take a generation to recover, if we ever do.

When Americans were asked to temporarily sacrifice going to their barbers so we could keep the morgues from overflowing, people with guns stormed the Michigan capitol.

I don't think you have to Nostradamus to figure that bombing Iran might raise oil prices. And it seems pretty obvious that buying oil in advance of causing an oil price spike might just save Americans a lot of money. But... ...maybe there wasn't much planning?

Today seems like an appropriate time to re-up this one.

Every layoff is a failure of leadership.

This is exactly the same issue as the BLM protests in 2020. We can't live in a society where the police break the law, and face no accountability when they do. They murdered GF, then committed countless crimes against protesters.

In 2020, the right demonized Floyd, protesters and anyone who took a knee, and then they lionized Rittenhouse, an unrepentant murderer.

one takeaway from the grok noncon porn thing is that much of the media just isn't interested in an issue they can't pretend has two sides or that doesn't give them an opportunity to shit on the left. Also it would be uncomfortable to justify remaining on twitter after acknowledging it

The reason Trump had 3 cognitive exams is that he has dementia. The reason he immediately claimed he did much better than [names 3 women of color] could do is that he is mentally ill. The reason he doesn't understand that these aren't IQ tests is that he is shockingly stupid.

It's fine to insist Epstein docs are released, but remember: 1. We already know T is a violent sex offender 2. T has no qualms about illegally mishandling gov't documents 3. Pam Bondi is AG and she won't willingly release anything damaging to her party

The GOP's principal ideological tenet is that Americans' political power should be proportional to their wealth. Consequently, the upward transfer of wealth is the foundation of every economic policy they have or will ever propose.

At this point, no one can tell whether the US even has a Ukraine policy or whether we're just letting Russia launder their demands through the US State Dept. Anyone who used the phrase, "projecting weakness," about Biden but is silent now deserves to be ignored.

For about the 500th time, if you lost your shit because people were insufficiently mournful about a racist podcaster getting shot and now have nothing to say about POTUS explicitly calling for murder, then no one should have to listen to anything you have to say after that.

5 headlines tonight on Charlotte Observer’s homepage: “Manolo's Bakery closes to protect customers” “Church members flee as federal agents arrive” “Super G executive describes agents dragging out teen employee” “Border Patrol questions people at Walmart” “Border Patrol sweep sparks fear”

Just gonna go ahead and get ahead of the folks who're going to tell me I'm not mourning Dick Cheney correctly with a preemptive, "fuck off". Sorry for the interruption, carry on.

Now seems like an appropriate time to remind the, "I didn't vote for this," people that yes you fucking did you fucking, IDC-as-long-as-eggs-get-cheaper idiots.
