This is a good illustration of how so much of AI theft isn't indirect (ie, data sucked into a model to train the chatbot) - it's actually **direct** copying, but *enabled* by GenAI. Of course it is: chatbots absolutely suck at creating good, new stuff.

do think there's a danger of looking at extremely cool shit like a car driving upside down then doing a kickflip before landing, and convincing yourself it's actually lame because the guy funding it is a white supremacist

When I was in college I worked for the campus catering company and the bosses were complete assholes, like one called me an idiot for not knowing something nobody ever trained me on. Anyway I did two shifts and then no-showed after that.

People who spiral out overusing LLM chatbots are really just experiencing the kind of brain-damaging stream of unconditional validation that’s always been the norm for the hyper-wealthy, which explains a lot.

Worse than Twitter, private discussions (text, email, whatever) among like-minded wealthy lunatics who are all surrounded by yes-men who talk like ChatGPT in maximum ass-kissing mode.

I tried watching the American remake of Audition and... don't do it. I don't know if it's a remake in any official capacity or through any official channels but it's Tubi Original(tm) quality and makes every other remake I've ever seen look good by comparison.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?

I'm glad he wrote this down! It could be incredibly ironic some day

My wife: Can you read our baby a bedtime story? Me: I've identified several potential risks with that approach. My wife: It's a children's book. Me: That's exactly the kind of assumption attackers rely on. Parenting hits different when you work in InfoSec.

Somehow missed that "Vangers" got a big official update during the summer. 60 fps support has been merged into the main branch, but also a bunch of mission hiccups that were in the game since 1998 have been fixed as well! store.steampowered.com/news/app/264...

All right agents, here's today's posting agenda: A: Talking about whether Solitaire is an extraction shooter B. The VP will be wearing a bad sweater at 3pm so we're riffing on that C. Everyone piles on to a rando who says medium rare steak is "elitist" Let's spread some good malaise out there!

I have been listening to nothing but drone metal and IDM for the last two decades knowing that at some point in 2026 there would be a song everyone was supposed to have heard and if I didn't I would get *cultural cachet.* At last all my planning and preparation has paid off.

This kind of take made a Rolling Stone writer so mad they wrote a whole piece about it.
