If the Oceangate guys were obliterated faster than it took an optic signal to travel to the brain, I like to imagine that if there's any sort of consciousness left, they're just forever sitting in that submarine, stuck with their last thought for eternity.

But these guys who were squished into nothing in a nanosecond never did get that experience - they became nothing in an instant. So in a way... yeah, they didn't go to Heaven OR Hell. They just became nothing.

This is how I like to imagine Heaven and Hell. Your brain goes through a lengthy process releasing special time-dilation chemicals (so I hear) in the process giving you what's basically one last super-dope rush of a dream, so you could in theory spend a thousand years in your favorite anime.
