"I'm going to acquire by bizarre and unprecedented means the contact info of all your friends and colleagues and then email them that you insulted me, the weirdest and most unlikeable billionaire in the entire menagerie of weird, unlikable billionaires" You gotta be so far gone to think this is cool

The guy owns the closest thing steam has to a competitor. If he believed a word of his pro-AI shit, he'd be getting ready to laugh all the way to the bank while his superior AI games ate steam's lunch. "Never interrupt your opponent when he's making a mistake" and all that. But he isn't. Weird.

Rock Paper Shotgun@rockpapershotgun.bsky.social

Steam's AI disclosures are akin to "forcing developers to list their voting history", says man who must hate seeing eggs virtue signal that they're free-range. https://bit.ly/4yHFEyK

Once again, every time I see this fucker I get more and more alienated from the people who watch him. He's a smug fucking slimeball, he reads like "the writers put this character in the movie so you'd know his opinion is the one for assholes." If he said things I agreed with, I'd feel insulted

Jesse Watters thinks that Barack Obama doesn't have much of a legacy and that Trump's presidency will be talked about for many years to come. He then mentioned that Trump has sons and grandsons and that Obama only has daughters....so much to unpack with this one. 🤦‍♀️

Kirsten Bladh@kerstanley.bsky.social

Over 2,000 alumni from Vivek’s all-boys catholic high school in Cincinnati have signed and circulated a petition demanding that he pull the ad and issue a public apology for “ignoring the moral responsibilities” of his Jesuit education. I think he’s pretty cooked.

every time I see Claude's "clearly a butthole" asterisk logo I smile. They should see if Tom Cardy is willing to license "have you checked your butthole?" for a Claude TV commercial (and then he should say no, but still)

As somebody with adhd and really terrible executive function: It turns out I love my kid and could easily help him think of 3 nice things to say about himself? Imagine that. Aparna innocent.

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

I'm seeing a lot of people posting about the millions-strong Lula's army WhatsApp group, and I assume that means Zuckerberg is getting a swirly from the other fascist billionaires today

I'm trying to honestly assess why Yggy doesn't like this and genuinely the only two things I can think of are: 1) disgust for solidarity across borders generally, and/or 2) worry that increased international scrutiny makes it riskier for western intelligence agencies to interfere That's all I got

There's a lot of good and bad that comes from being sent to 12+ years of Catholic school but I'm learning more and more that "You don't actually have to bare your soul for every essay question, you can just tell the teacher what they want to hear" Was one of the best lessons.

David Gura@davidgura.bsky.social

cool, cool

There's so many layers to this one From "you can't actually think of 3 good things about your kid?" To "you can't just make up 3 good things about your kid?" Honestly I'm equally flummoxed by both of those failures. Does this lady have interiority?

My initial post comes from a place of "I can easily think of many nice things to say about my kid, and I'm going to go with the first three that come to mind, because it isn't actually important that they be the *best* three." Then it started to sink in that she can't think of any.

On the one hand, score another win for "All I know about them is my mutuals hate them, and I trust my mutuals" On the other hand it seems like the internet would have been a lot funnier recently if I'd known more than that about "h3 productions"

I guess they're content creators who pivoted from a vaguely progressive footing to a "yell at anyone who thinks Israel should commit fewer war crimes" footing a couple years ago? And now the main guy has cheated on his wife in a way that's messy even by public figure standards? That's all I got

If you've ever wondered how the war criminals at Nuremberg could try to defend themselves with "I was only following orders!", and actually believe that it was a good defense, the two takeaways from the linked piece are: 1)This guy is exactly like them, and 2)America contains millions of this guy.

So as I headed to Ingram for the first time in March, I wanted to know who the local faces of the national immigration crackdown were. Who was driving the black Dodge Charger? www.propublica.org/article/depo...

Redemption is when you come to understand you've done something horrible, you resolve to never do it again, and you make amends for the horrible thing you've done. America-style redemption is when you feel bad about it, but then count feeling bad about it *as* the amends, and then do it again

For fucks sake the cheesecake factory looks like a tacky over-decorated spoof of what someone with no style thinks of as fancy ON PURPOSE. THAT'S THE INTENT YOU AREN'T EVEN INSULTING IT WHEN YOU SAY THAT YOU'RE JUST USING BASIC PATTERN RECOGNITION AND DESCRIBING IT ACCURATELY

Even as the kind of over-privileged white male oaf who has not at any point been one of the primary targets of trump 2, just imagining describing the last 2 years as "euphoric relief" makes me want to fuckin puke

‘Wicker’ stars Alexander Skarsgård as a man made entirely of wicker, complete with a rock-hard wicker dick. But what about splinters? Bacteria? Degradation? Would it be advisable, from a sexual-health perspective, to mount a basket dick? We asked a gynecologist: vulture.visitlink.me/DNQwX5

Absolutely fucking incredible to stand up like the Rockwell painting guy to say "We don't give a single shit about labor or solidarity, we just want content!!" EA should shit out a fully AI-slop mass effect and the signatories to this petition should be the only people who get it

IGN@ign.com

After hearing news of BioWare's closure on Wednesday, over 75,000 Mass Effect fans have signed a petition demanding that EA put another studio in charge of the franchise or license out the IP. https://bit.ly/4siIubW

On balance I'd probably pick Cheesecake Factory over dinner with Obama ten times out of ten but I still gotta say it's hilarious that the right thinks they're gonna get any mileage out of "He besmirched the honor of the Deliberately Tacky Palace of 4000 Calorie Meals!!"

"I did not shoot my dick off, I do not condone shooting dicks off, and frankly the Democrats are doing cynical dishonest politics by gesturing at this smoking shotgun in my hands and all the steaming fragments of my dick on the other side of the room"

I get that it's called Glee because a high school a cappella pop chorus is called "glee club," presumably for reasons that made perfect sense to purveyors of fine brass phrenology calipers in 1887, but has anybody under 100 used the word glee for any emotion other than 'Da Joker Just Killed A Guy"?

I can't overemphasize the degree to which Tommy Teepums or whatever really is just the physical manifestation of "why 90% of the straight women under 30 in my extended family have resigned themselves to never being in a successful long-term relationship with a man under 30"

So many young ladies are starring down the barrel of either staying single, or settling for *this* because there's 10 million of this guy and they're choosing not to settle, because he fuckin sucks

What mask?

The fact that it's called New Mexico is a flex on the fact that the USA stole it from Mexico. Conversely, Calling it New America implies that it is different from America, named by former Americans who wish to remember America fondly. We are ruled by people who are too stupid to be toxic correctly.
