Thought it'd be good to do an introduction post - Hi! I'm Adam, an escape game, puzzle box, solo ttrpg, and board game designer. The pictures are of my puzzleboxes, my solo/coop card game "My Small Garden", one of the rooms in my Air BnB game, and elements from my escape game builds.

Go give the Ladder Lad demo a spin and leave a review!

BUCK Games@play-buck-games.bsky.social

Demo for LADDER LAD is live on Steam! Get your very own ladder and begin the ascent. Maybe you'll be the one to find out what's going on up there? store.steampowered.com/app/4815010/...

I'm giving myself the weekend to look over options then I'll need to make a decision.

I'm looking for a textbook for the Board Game Design class I'll be teaching this spring. The class will be a combo of both game design majors and students who presumably have no experience in game dev. The contenders are Building Blocks of Game Design & Game Design Workshop. Am I missing an option?

I always loved the idea of a gritty cyberpunk monocity setting, but if anyone ever ventured out and got over the horizon… they’d find a cosy little farming game homesteading as nature reclaims the wasteland.. and let the players just… find it.

I don't offer a pnp for one of my games, because the physicality of the game needs the cards to be like standard playing cards, not sleeved or homemade. I could have gotten a bit more money by offering pnp but it wouldn't have been the same game.

Amabel Holland@amabel.bsky.social

All that is setting aside that there are games that *can't* be pnp'd - like Six Moons, which has more than one rulebook. How would I even pnp the unsent letter in Swords Against? The board for Eyelet?

This is the project I've been working on for ages now! A two player engine building card and dice game inspired by real life robotics!

Soucy Games@soucy.games

Today feels like a good day to announce it! I'm preparing for my first crowd funding campaign! Bot Builders is an engine building game about robots and the people who make them, inspired by real life robotics competitions.

Board game designers: Our 2026 reports on publishing contracts are out! Industry standards to know before signing: 💵 Part 1: advances, credit, creative control 🎲 Part 2: royalties, designer copies, promotion 🌏 Part 3: co-publishing, extra royalties, rights reversion cardboardedison.com/reports

@neverpo.st I would love more of an explainer on this whole ecosystem and if there's a chance that it could actually be the way of social media in the future. Seems like the kind of thing you might already be working on, tbh.

Bummer that Bluesky had problems for a bit BUT I *love* that with my Atmosphere account, I could keep working on my @leaflet.pub & @pckt.blog posts, that I'm NOT locked into a single platform. For a great non-techie Atmosphere explainer, see: lab.leaflet.pub/3mrq6ma5dgs2x (art by @cozylittle.house)

I give the same advice for the exact same reason. Build understanding, empathy AND your skills at social interaction, sales and marketing, and, thus, pitching! Key point: for a lower stress but more fruitful time, work a booth where your own games aren’t being sold.

Scare-on Lim 林家丰@ehronlime.bsky.social

I honestly believe anyone interested in making games should try boothing to sell/explain and demo games - it’s such an effective crash course in learning how a large variety of players engage with games.

There are two wolves. One always lies. One controls the lever of trolley track. They're in a state of superposition inside a box. On the trolley are infinite monkeys at infinite typewriters going to an infinite hotel. The trolley must first travel halfway, but before that a quarterway, and so on...

I always cut corners when prototyping... metaphorically speaking :P You might say a consistent corner I cut is to leave my cards corner cut-less.

Oh, this is really cool. I could see this becoming somewhat standard as a way to differentiate colors/player pieces.

The absolute hardest part of game design for me is pitching games and emailing publishers. Often, the only time I have is in the evenings when I've already spent most of my creative and social energy and getting something written up and sent is a hill that I can't surmount.

Started Pandora's Legacy - a puzzle puzzle - on my birthday weekend. Just doing the first part and it's been really fun so far! Really excited for the rest of it! The pics aren't spoilers (imo) as it's the very very beginning of the puzzle.

Has anyone tried Two Sides to the Coin? A RPG with personal goals and a winner seems like a fun concept but also one that could be the opposite of "telling a fun story together". So we'd like to hear some experiences. www.ospreypublishing.com/uk/two-sides...
