Finally, a Democrat takes off the gloves… Space Karen isn’t welcome in Texas!

Team Talarico@teamtalaricohq.bsky.social

NEW AD: Have you seen these anti-Talarico attack ads? Elon Musk paid for nearly all of them. The world's first trillionaire knows if he drags the most corrupt politician in Texas across the finish line, Ken Paxton will owe him everything. Elon Musk: Texas is not for sale.

When Palestinians kill two Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, it’s the front page story of the @nytimes.com. When Israeli soldiers kill two Palestinian civilians in the West Bank, it’s below the fold. When Israeli soldiers kill two Palestinian babies in Gaza, it’s not news.

Five Israelis wounded, two of them critically, in a Palestinian shooting attack at the Yehuda junction nearby Hebron. This is not surprising at all, those who follow me saw the military/settler attacks happening every day, did they really expect there won't be a counter-response?

Speaking in Maine alongside Senate candidate Troy Jackson, Alexandria Occasio-Cortez shamed politicians who "scare so easily," and shift positions after an election. "The moment you compromise the rights of a trans person in America, you compromise the rights of every citizen in America," she said.

Trans voter to @aoc.bsky.social: Trans people in America feel like they've been abandoned by the Democratic Party, that we are a losing issue, that it's not worth defending us. What do you say to that? AOC:

I have absolutely no issue with Abdul El-Sayed’s religious background whatsoever, but while I have your attention I would just like to ask have you considered that MUSLIM MUSLIM MUSLIM MUSLIM MUSLIM MUSLIM MUSLIM

Democrats who have used transgender rights as a bargaining chip or have flirted with transphobic language are not doing so to “win elections.” They’re doing it because they find something fascinating in using power to bully and push around the weak. In short, it’s a form of fascism-curiosity.

Israeli state forces, not settlers, prevent Palestinian farmers and those who have come to accompany them in harvesting their olive crop from harvesting this morning in Turmus Ayya, near Ramallah. The state facilitates settlement and displacement, the settlers make up the state.

I’ve been released from IDF custody with a “warning,” apparently because of my public profile (I told them I wasn’t even a congressmember yet, just a nominee). But several dozen rabbis & participants harvesting olives with me are still in detention.

Palestinians picking olives on their own land is not a crime, nor is it a crime for Americans to support them doing it. The Israeli settlers preventing the olive harvest are terrorists who deserve immediate sanction from the United States, other Western powers, and Japan.

Now that a Jewish man and liberal Zionist (Brad Lander) has been detained in the West Bank by the IDF, I really pray the days of progressive(s)-except-Palestine referring to solidarity actions as “political stunts” will come to an end.

Picking olives with a Palestinian whose land and livelihood is being threatened by Israeli settlers and a sit-in at a whites-only diner are both political stunts in the sense that they attempt to use political power to draw attention to and delegitimize an existing system of racial abuse.

FTR- I went back to using twitter eventually because I realized that abandoning it to the racists and tech fascists means there’s no one getting in their face, telling them they are garbage (and wrong)

Imagine if Dems had actually promoted narratives that humanized trans people— this garbage wouldn’t be effective I don’t mean promoting trans-feminist liberation, I just mean things like, “trans kids deserve a say in their own future. That should be a conversation between a family and their doctor”

Laura Bassett@lebassett.bsky.social

Team Paxton appears to have sent out fake mailers to Texas voters impersonating a trans student group and claiming to want to help kids secretly transition. The actual group said they had nothing to do with it, despite the mailers copying their aesthetic, and the address traces to a random UPS box.

Donald Trump’s targeting of Ilhan Omar is a disgusting abuse of power, worthy of impeachment and removal from office by itself. The silence of Democratic Party leadership on the issue is contemptible. I stand with Ilhan Omar.

Metallica wasn't afraid to express their opinion when they went after some of their own fans back in the day for using Napster. They just don't want to say anything now when there's a risk to it because something important is actually on the line.

James Hetfield from Metallica said, “…Metallica is not here, like some other entertainers, to influence you with their bullshit. We are here to forget about all the outside shit!” The same band that did this album where every song is damn political. I can’t stop thinking about this. 😒

One thing I find endlessly funny about the rise of AI is that it has revealed that there is a large number of people who believe that the reason they wrote essays at school or university is their teachers were desperately waiting for them to provide a definite answer to “Lear: what’s up with him?”

Dr Dean Burnett@drdeanburnett.bsky.social

"By using AI, tasks like essays that used to take hours can be completed in minutes!" Sure, like how if I arrive at the gym and immediately go for a shower, my workout is done in record time. And if I throw my sandwiches straight in the bin, I can finish my lunch in under 10 seconds.

After taking the mantle from Platner, Troy Jackson sold himself off to the establishment Dems: he hired their consultants, he adopted their talking points, & he probably tanked his Senate campaign as a result. You can tell from the way he readjusted his talking points in recent days that he knows.

The fact that Jackson agreed to run his campaign on the centrist’s terms and Janet Mills still refuses to endorse him illustrates what a uniquely bad candidate she always was. She was never there to win, she was there as a stand-in, so the consultants could keep their jobs until the next cycle.

Beyond the racism and the cruelty, this is just the behavior of adult children. These people shouldn’t have badges, they should be in prison.

4/ Fernando Vasquez, an 18-year-old citizen, was on break from work when agents chased and handcuffed him, then put him in their truck. After realizing their mistake, the agents left the teen alone in the woods, with no way to get home. Then they threw his ID out of the truck.

Beyond the obvious cruelty of using LGBTQ advocacy orgs to silence LGBTQ people rather than to fight for our rights, it’s pretty clear that abandoning trans people is actually an electoral loser. The truth is Dems like @amyactonoh.bsky.social abandon trans people simply because she doesn’t like us.

I try not to use the term when others are more appropriate, but this is just gaslighting. Most of Gaza is destroyed to bulldozed rubble and nobody who matters is even speaking up about it, because they know what would happen to them and their careers if they do.

Imagine having to navigate this type of violence in your everyday work life. And if you then come to the US and speak out against it, you will be told that your real reason for rejecting this type of racist violence is anti-semitism.

McBride’s approach to politics is very different from my own and I was quite skeptical of her messaging at the beginning of Trump 2.0 in particular, but there is no doubt she has has had significant successes and this should be acknowledged.

The common claim that Sarah McBride has done nothing for trans rights is flatly false and its getting very tired that people keep spreading that disinformation.

Sen. Susan Collins helped steer millions in federal defense contracts to Navatek, whose CEO illegally funneled thousands of dollars to her campaign. The FBI sought to launch a probe and was eyeing Collins and other lawmakers. Then Trump gutted the unit in charge. THREAD 🧵

They’re both so good at talking out of both sides of their mouths. Collins is still known as “a Republican who supports abortion rights” to some people despite being the swing vote that put Kavanaugh on the court so he could kill Roe.
