A couple of Youtubers I watch have done videos now about how their views are way down, and how Youtube is prioritizing short form, clickbait titles/thumbnails, and "videos that start in the midst of the action" and *my god* all I hate all three of these.
This is the opposite of what I like.
I think we underestimate the appeal of antigambling politics because every problem gambler is surrounded by 3-10 people who are absolutely sick of their shit.
Hey everyone, Commissions are now open. I've created a Google Form for more information and to fill out, letting me know who is interested. DM me too for any questions. forms.gle/ooD3D69cmTfa...
Unless you’re that one guy who commissions original art of Karate Kid from the Legion of Super-Heroes fighting everybody, the answer is Lady Shiva #ngl
After speaking with my therapist about it, I’ve decided to try reopening my NGL. Ask me all your questions about DC Comics for an answer from a professional DC Comics weirdo. Please be respectful.
The Starlight Children's Foundation is accepting donations on Eric Bauza's behalf, who was fundraising for the charity before he passed. It would be wonderful if you could donate or spread the word donate.starlight.org/fundraiser/7...
Raskin: "When historians look back on this miserable period of our history, they might say that the first problem was disregarding all those women who told us back in 2016 that they had been sexually harassed or assaulted by Donald Trump."
I think the instinct of trying to tie-up the administration in red tape and maybe surface indictable information regarding small fry and work your way up
Rather than starting by going right at Trump, makes sense. Like directive to engage Napoleon’s generals but not Napoleon himself
and also tbh the summation isn't entirely fair to her, which her first point is investigations are important and also literally says dems should be ruthless
i really don't hold it against her, the way politics selected for talent in women in politics, particularly black women, in the 1990s and 2000s is just wayyyyyy different than today and definitely impressed a level of caution that is not always productive
Harris's single greatest weakness imo is she is a fundamentally very cautious politician, which is itself very much a product of the path of 'the how' she came to power
Kamala Harris: I think that going in the direction of impeachment is not a good idea.
I was in the Senate for the last go-round, and the votes aren’t there.
I think after the election, we all have to just also agree that our attitude has to be to get stuff done…
Man you guys love to forget that every politician lies through their teeth constantly, especially in the week before Election Day. Wait until January, then get mad. Being angry just makes you miserable anyway.
The thing is, fundamentally "Impeach Trump even though it probably won't force him out because it bleeds the beast" and "Do the work instead even though they'll veto and block most of it" are the SAME ARGUMENT performing for two halves of the same audience 🤷♂️
I don’t know if she’s right about that- I think we’re not really going to know until early next year what the Republican Party’s mood looks like- but I’m seeing people characterize this as bipartisan kumbaya and it isn’t that
this summary does Harris dirty. her first argument is that impeaching Trump is a waste of investigative resources that should go elsewhere- presumably at cabinet members- instead

A local corner pizzeria. A young man orders a pizza. A normal order, cheese pizza, with extra cheese. But then, for reasons unfathomable, the boy decides to hold the sauce, and then, the crust. He has just ordered a cheese with nothing. Cheese floating in an empty void known as... the Twilight Zone.
...bro they made an "Odyssey" movie THIS YEAR that made a billion dollars because it was the only movie GenZ brats AND their uncles both all went to see. You don't need AI to get that.

Brazil and Hungary both saw their authoritarian leaders ousted this year.
And Trump and the Cons are looking for a historic upset.
The only reason you don't think anyone "stops" them is because you *want* them to win.
In short, Rumiko Takahashi is more talented, more creative, more successful, and just *WAY* better than JKR.
In a world's of JKR's- be a Rumiko Takahashi.
And while JKR has made herself an enemy of the Trans community, one of Rumiko Takahashi's most popular works is the gender bending comedy Ranma 1/2 which has helped crack a *lot* of eggs with its premise.
Unlike JKR who is still riding the Potter franchise's coattails, Rumiko Takahashi has never let herself be tied to one franchise and keeps reinventing herself with new series.
She's still creating to this day, which is impressive for an artist that started her career *before* JKR's.
How about celebrating an artist that is far more creative- and arguably just as successful- than JKR?
Rumiko Takahashi is one of the most important Mangaka's in Japan's history, and arguably one of the most important artists in the world, with a wide variety of stories under her belt.
"So is it a man who turns into a woman or a woman who turns into a man?"
"Whu- what?"
"You said 'Were-Woman.' 'Were' is German for Man. 'Werewolf' is 'Man wolf.' So 'Were-Woman' would be 'Man-Woman.'"
"....
It's a woman who turns into a monster, alright?"
"Then why....?"
"Just drop it!"
It just further shows what a massive hypocrite Slott is, as he operates by the thinking that there is one set of rules for him, and one set of rules for everyone else.
He gets to make whatever changes he wants. But *no one else* is allowed to change things, or change the stories *he* "wrote."
This is all the more egregious because Slott was very adamant about how certain other changes (ie the marriage) *HAD* to be undone because they changed the franchise too much.
But when it came to *his* ideas and *his* stories, those get an exception.
SIGH.
Honor demands that one admit if they've also thought this through if they're going to make fun of Andy Weir for this, so...
The proper way to do this is to just do a "Holodeck Malfunction" story, obviously. It's cleaner and Trek cares about how things "work" whereas SW doesn't.

There was a story on here a while back from the artist himself I think, about being asked to draw a Judge Dredd cover where he's in "Oz" (as in, slang for Australia). The artist didn't know that bit of slang, though, and interpreted Oz as "The Wizard of."
I remember another story like this. An writer told his artist to leave lots of space for balloons (as in, speech balloons), but the artist just drew dozens of actual balloons in the panel.
favourite one of these was when someone was writing a comics based on mars (i think) and wrote "helicopter shot" referring to the POV of someone looking down from a helicopter at the protagonist, but the artist wasn't familiar with the term so drew a perfectly good looking helicopter
on mars
actually there was precisely one time where I was not wrong, and it's because my sweet wonderful artist misread the panel description (it was a comic) where I wrote that a character "ducks" and instead thought there was a duck there, so there was just a cute little duckling Beast Boy was saving
seriouslyyyy I've loved getting art back that was different than what was in my head anyway because it usually means the artist figured out something important in the process that I wouldn't have been able to ahead of time because the whole point is they know better than me on art!
Reminds me of a story I read from a tabletop game developer that told their artist that they wanted an evil wizard who used brambles as a weapon. They meant vines. The artist who was not a native English speaker, looked up brambles: raspberries.
So evil raspberry wizard. Apparently they kept it.
